This is one of the prettiest peaks in Fiordland National Park I think. Image shot from Key Summit, stitched together from three separate images. Pyramid Peak is a 2,295-metre-elevation mountain summit in the Fiordland Region of New Zealand. Lucky with some visibility this day as the peak is often fully covered by clouds. I like the contrast of the dark pointy peak and the white patches of snow and light. Glorious.

The pyramid of Djoser (or Djeser and Zoser), sometimes called the Step Pyramid of Djoser, is an archaeological site in the Saqqara necropolis, Egypt, northwest of the ruins of Memphis. The 6-tier, 4-sided structure is the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt. It was built in the 27th century BC during the Third Dynasty for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser. The pyramid is the central feature of a vast mortuary complex in an enormous courtyard surrounded by ceremonial structures and decoration. Its architect was Imhotep, chancellor of the pharaoh and high priest of the god Ra.
Pyramid Mountain, southeast side, viewed from Pyramid Island, on Pyramid Lake, near Jasper, Alberta. The ruddy coloring of the rocks is due to iron oxide (rust) content.
Pyramid Island with the footbridge to it is a favorite dark sky viewing site for local astronomers as the mountains shield the lake from light pollution and are at low vertical angles to allow viewing most of the sky.
Unfortunately for us, it was overcast like so almost the whole time we were in the area so we could not see the stars.

I found many images on our walk yesterday windswept landscapes wild flowers and flowing grasses but alas no Owl,maybe another time .
But what I did find was a patch of pyramid Orchids which have a lovely vibrant colour. I have another couple of images of these that I will post another time, I did so enjoy myself yesterday shooting with longer lenses and picking out detail though too windy for macro work, we cannot seem to shake off these strong winds day after day .
Wearing a pyramid, which is triangular shaped, whilst being wary of a stone with Anubis, the Egyptian god of death.

The "Great American Pyramid" was conceived originally by Mark C. Hartz, a Memphis artist in about 1954. Its structure plays on the city's namesake in Egypt, known for its ancient pyramids.
The Pyramid was the home court for the University of Memphis men's basketball program, and later for the National Basketball Association's Memphis Grizzlies.
The Pyramid closed in 2005 as it was not a suitable arena for an NBA franchise and for 3 years sat empty as Memphis leadership struggled with their empty landmark. Bass Pro Shops reopened the Pyramid as a mega store in 2015 with an indoor hotel, archery range, bowling alley, and aquarium.
The most famous Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. Several of the Giza pyramids are counted among the largest structures ever built. The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid. It is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence.Giza is the location of the Pyramid of Khufu (also known as the "Great Pyramid" and the "Pyramid of Cheops"); the somewhat smaller Pyramid of Khafre (or Kephren); the relatively modest-sized Pyramid of Menkaure (or Mykerinus), built around 2500 years BC
The pyramids of Menkaure and his three queens. The easternmost is the largest and a true pyramid. Its casing is partly of granite, like the main pyramid, and is believed to have been completed due to the limestone pyramidion found close by.
Happy Macro Monday everyone!
My submission this week is a macro shot of a small (about 3-4 cm base) glass pyramid ornament that we've had at home for ages mounted on a mirror with a black background and illuminated with natural window light.
This is the result of a focus stack of 14 images processed in Helicon Focus, followed by Photoshop to extend the background. Then Lightroom to straighten followed by Silver Efex Pro for a mono conversion. The resulting image was cleaned up (dust spot removal) in PS again before final tweaks and sharpening in Lightroom.

Outside the church [of the Holy Rude] is the Valley Cemetery. In past times was the site of jousting tournaments and markets. The Cemetery has a Pyramid, built by William Drummond in 1863. Quoted from the Ancient Egypt website.
I guess a lot of you will recognize the pyramids at The Louvre in Paris, France. This was taken on the first evening of my trip.
2019 seems to have been the perfect growing conditions for this lovely wild orchid - I have seen so very many growing along the Sussex verges in places where they have not appeared before
