It's nice to see KLM's 747s back at San Francisco for the summer. Here, KLM 282, bound for Amsterdam, begins taxiing after pushback.

Not the best of journeys, full flight, passenger vomiting and clearing one row, disobedient passengers not sitting down delaying pushback. The joys of travel!

Fortaleza - Pinto Martins Int'l Airport (FOR/SBFZ)

The beautiful Condor 767 pushes back for the flight back to FRA, under a great sunset light! One of my favorite Condor pics for sure!!! :D

Unfortunately, Condor is ceasing operations in Brazil, and this was their penultimate flight here in Fortaleza. Their operations at Recife have already ended, and we'll have their last flight on September 29th. Very sad! They serve Fortaleza since June 2014.

This 767, D-ABUI, is one of the few still sporting the old, blue scheme of Condor. I like it, and I also like the new one, so I really can't decide!

Two of the best liveries of the 1980s. TU-TCF Air Afrique stretched Douglas DC-8-63CF pushes back in front of Thai International Boeing 747-2D7B HS-TGG at Roissy (Paris - Charles de Gaulle).

TU-TCF 'Ndjamena' c/n 46135 - Douglas DC-8-63CF - delivered new to Air Afrique in 1970, and flew with the airline for 20 years. One of the last of 556 DC-8s to be built as production ceased early in 1972. Sold to Arrow Air in 1991 as N784AL, the aircraft flew another 18 years, only being withdrawn in 2009, and broken up the following year in Miami. An amazing 39 year lifespan!

HS-TGG c/n 22471 'Sriwanna' Boeing 747-2D7B was delivered new to Thai Airways International in Mar 1981, the last of six series 200s that the airline operated. The aircraft flew with the airline for 16 years before being sold to Atlas Air in 1997, and converted to a freighter, registered N527MC. After flying as a freighter for another 11 years, the aircraft was written off in an accident at Lome, Togo, on 02 Feb 2008.

29-9-2015 - British Airways, Boeing 737-436.

Today marked the end of an era within the British Airways fleet. The last 2 remaining Boeing 737-400's were officially retired.

G-DOCW flew it's last passenger flight yesterday (29-9-15), operating a one off, 1 hour charity flight over the South coast of the UK with various BA staff and ground crew on board. Once back on the ground it was retired from active service.

G-DOCX flew its last revenue flight today, operating a rotation to Turin. Once back at Gatwick it too was withdrawn from service.

Both aircraft will now join the rest of the retired BA 737's in the Mojave Desert for storage, parting out and ultimately scrapping.

Farewell to the British Airways Boeing 737!

I took this image on my phone and gave it a touch of the Snapseed treatment. I was quite pleased with the outcome.

Info:

Owned by the Swedish Air Force Museum. Lent to Le Caravelle Club. McDonnell Douglas MD-82 in the back is former Alitalia I-DAWS. Planned to become SE-RJP with Air Sweden, but in very bad shape. Used by Swedavia, Arlanda airport's operator, as training aircraft for de-icing and pushback.
