The Getty Center, Los Angeles. A very fine museum. I was fascinated by a whole array and various works of the fine arts, especially the painting exhibits. Aside from Van Gogh's "Irises", another work that excited and fascinated me was this of Franz Xaver Winterhalter's "Portrait Of Leonilla".
The model is an embodiment of pure royal elegance. And the painter, a true master.

In a daring pose reminiscent of harem scenes and odalisques, the Princess Leonilla of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn reclines on a low Turkish sofa on a veranda overlooking a lush tropical landscape. Only her unassailable social position made it possible for Franz Xaver Winterhalter to use such a sensual pose for a full-length portrait in Paris in 1843.
Known for her great beauty and intellect, the Princess is resplendent in a luxurious gown of ivory silk moiré with a pink sash around her waist. A deep purple mantle wraps around her back and falls across her smooth arms. Under carefully arched eyebrows, her heavy lidded eyes gaze languidly at the viewer while she artfully toys with the large pearls around her neck. Winterhalter contrasted sumptuous fabrics and vivid colors against creamy flesh to heighten the sensuality of the pose, the model, and the luxuriant setting. ~ Source: The Getty Center, Los Angeles.

Sunset at the natural harbour of the little seaside town of Trégastel, Brittany, France
Some background information:
While we were having our dinner at a seafood restaurant at Trégastel’s natural port, I saw the beginning of the sunset through the restaurant’s glass façade. After having apologised to my wife and our French friends, I went outside to take some photos with my mobile phone. I simply couldn’t resist, just like a considerable number of other sunset viewers, who had gathered at the harbour. After ten or fifteen minutes the spectacle was over and I went back to finish my starter.
Trégastel is a little seaside town located at the Côte de Granit Rose (in English: "Pink Granite Coast") in the French department of Côtes-d’Armor in the very north of Brittany. It belongs to the arrondissement of Lannion and has about 2,500 residents. The Côte de Granit Rose is characterised by rocks of pink granite that alternate with sandy beaches and most often the rocks are even scattered on the beaches.
Beginning in the 4th or 5th century, christianised Bretons landed on the coasts of Brittany, after having been expelled from Britain by Anglo-Saxon animosities and raids from Ireland. They founded new religiously organised settlements. This is still shown by town and village names with the prefix "tre-" or the suffix "-lan". Hence, Trégastel was also founded in these days and the name of the community literally means "an inhabited place with a castle".
In the 12th century, the status of a parish was conferred to Trégastel. In the 13th century the area was purchased by monks of the nearby Bégard Abbey. In 1375, King Charles V gave his assent to build a tide mill. In the 17th century, the municipal territory was separated into two parts: One was in possession of the noble family Kerougant-Lannion and the other one was owned by the likewise noble family Launay-Névet. However, the official foundation of the commune of Trégastel took place not before 1790, in the course of the French Revolution.
Another important date in the history of Trégastel is the year 1872. In that year, the first lodgings for holiday makers were built and in 1884, the first bathing huts at Plage du Coz-Pors (in English: "Coz Pors Beach") were installed.
Between 1892 and 1896 the Château de Costaérès was built in the neo-Gothic style. It is situated on the little rocky island of Costaérès, which still belongs to Trégastel’s community area, although it is located just at a short distance of Plage Saint-Guirec belonging to the neighbouring community of Perros-Guirec. The construction of the château was commissioned by the Polish mathematician, inventor, and electrical engineer Bruno Abdank-Abakanowicz. After being finished it soon became a meeting spot of intellectual Polish emigrants, such as the painter Aleksander Gierymski and the Nobel laureate in literature Henryk Sienkiewicz, whose historical novel "Quo Vadis" has become world-famous.
In 1899, the construction of a sanatorium for anemic children and convalescent adults began. It was commissioned by countess Amélie Foucher de Careil. In 1900, a private boarding school was built. In 1912, Trégastel was recognised as a bathing resort and in 1921, it was even officially recognised as a tourist resort. Already in 1928, the commune had eleven hotels and an own guide book. Since 1967, Trégastel’s touristic range is complemented by a marine aquarium and since 1993, even by the Forum de Trégastel, a large swimming pool complex just ten metres away from the beach.

There was an outdoor portrait activity , we invited the pure girl 敏敏 to go to NTU campus to take picture , 敏敏 got pretty face , eyes , natural quality ,nice figure with slim long legs , small waist ,white skin , when she wore a classic fashion long skirt to show her personal style of pose , she is so charming and gorgeous ,thank 敏敏 ,she did her best model job
