We've been able to maintain a play area where a dining table would normally go by placing the small McCobb drop-leaf table off to the side. Behind the sofa is sometimes ballet studio, sometimes market, sometimes theater, sometimes dining room.

Size 3. Made with cheapo Spotlight chambray (except I realised that 'cheapo' doesn't translate well - it cost $13/m, which is more than designer fabric in the US) and Liberty bias trim.

Both sewn for summer wardrobe. One pair in yellow floral cotton from Scarborough quilting shop, edged with dark chambray, other pair in cotton/linen blend from Truro Fabrics.
No alterations to pattern. Due to errors the top stitching on the pocket of the yellow pair is naff, but they are still wearable! Error corrected for the second blue pair, featuring neon pink top stitching to appease Lady E's current pink love!
Addie put this outfit together. This dress was made upon her request. She chose the fabric from my stash.

I have had this fabric in my stash for so long - I still remember the excitement of finding it on the $2 a metre sale table though!
I seen a dress liek this one I made on the oliver + S flicker group and just fell in love with it so I had to make one for my Sweet pea too!
at the beach, I found a wayang kulit screen/stage with some of the puppets lined up against the screen - looked like they were waiting for showtime!

Back to my vantage point on the first floor balcony at the Baan Sinlapin Artist's House in the heritage Klong Bang Luang preserved canal district in Thonburi, Bangkok. The puppet show is very much in progress, and the chap with the Kong mask in his hand (see previous pictures earlier in this album) is now very much on stage now and playing his part. These shows originated over 300 years ago but soon faded into obscurity once the Royal patronage diminished. The Thai department of culture has been trying to revive the art as a form of ethnic Thai arts and culture with the odd theatre performance around town open to the public. Notwithstanding, these cultural Khon dances are difficult to come by. But if you you catch a show, these are incredibly entertaining and funny, regardless of the language barrier. The dialogues, songs and stuff are entirely in Thai, but foreign visitors and those who do not conversant in Thai still find these shows supremely entertaining. The shows are free to watch, though a donation is appreciated- you can put your donations into a box held by one of the masked performers who stand on the stage with other performance for you to get your selfies.(see subsequent pictures latet in this album). Khon dances at this venue are held at 14:00 every day, except Wednesday. (Bangkok, Thailand, Oct. 2018)
