Nothing better than sharing our lives with these sweet pups and crawling into a bed with sheets dried outside! I love how they smell after hanging out.
Both Pups Are very calm around the calf and the calf is used to them and will let them be all around and under it. Even the larger animals don’t seem to frighten the pups. There is at least one of the goats that they stay a little ways away from as she will butt them, but that is part of their learning experience. At 13 weeks old now they are real close to 40 pounds.

Pup is a builder and businesswoman in SL. She came to me asking for guidance in a fresher look while keeping her signature red hair. We changed her shape and eyes and that was all it took. Then I took her profile photo.

Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them.

Grey seal pups are nursed for only around 17 days so they must grow very rapidly consuming 3.2kg of fat- rich milk per day! The female does not eat during this time. After weaning, the pup moults and must fast, living on its stored fat for up to 4 weeks before it learns to forage and catch its own fish. The common seal pup learns to forage much earlier as it accompanies its mother on short trips during the 3-5 weeks after she nurses it. They spend much more time playing in the water from a very early stage.
It is very important that you NOT rescue seal pups. I am a research associate at Allied Whale, have gone to many of their rescue workshops and have been studying seals for 20 years. Without experience this little pup sweet as it is would have bitten me, it did not want me picking it up. These pups can carry a severe virus, dangerous to both humans and dogs.
If you find a stranded pup, the best thing you can do for it it keep a distance so as not to distress it. Keep people and dogs away, gather as much visual information as you can (does it look skinny, lethargic, have crusty eyes etc.) and call the nearest Marine Animal Rescue center or aquarium or Marine Patrol.
Finally got to see the Wild Dog pups yesterday - they are so big already ;-(
Born on Thanksgiving Day, 25 Nov 2010 - they are now 4 months old.
There are 10 pups along with mom, dad and one uncle. Most of them were asleep.
Their coats remind me of a Calico cat coloration.
These wild dogs hunt in packs and are successful about 8 out of 10 times. More than most predators. (ie: Lions are successful in their hunts 2-3 times out of 10) They are also very susceptible to domestic dog diseases, but in the wild, researchers have tried vaccinating against rabies and distemper, but for the most part the vaccinations are not successful.
It is variously called the African Wild Dog, African Hunting Dog, Cape Hunting Dog, Painted Dog, Painted Wolf, Painted Hunting Dog, Spotted Dog, or Ornate Wolf.
This pup was just nicked as it tried to cross I-90. Very unfortunate, especially since this pup is the sibling to the earlier roadkilled pup I took photos of.
This is "Pup". He's eating some grass for medicinal purposes. He started out as "Blackberry" because he was rescued from the blackberry bushes behind the boat plant where I worked. "Blackberry" didn't seem to fit him so I started calling him "Pup" because he liked following my wife and me around and also because we were grieving the loss of our German Shepherd/Chow mix that we had for eleven years. "Pup" tells me now that he's grown up he would like to be called "Blackster" or by his pirate name "Black Cay".
