When the Melvins announced that they'd be releasing "Freak Puke" -- a collective favorite album here at Maple Hoo -- as a limited edition picture disc LP, we knew we had to have it for our burgeoning record collection. The catch was, there were five different versions, each done by a different artist. Three of the five were cool, one was awesomely cool, and one was really not something we wanted in our collection. However, when you ordered the LP, it was done in a random draw. The company said it would be like the excitement of opening a pack of baseball cards. Maybe we'd get the one we really wanted, maybe we'd get the one we really didn't want. The wait was excruciating!
Finally, yesterday, it arrived. And you know what? It was exciting like opening a pack of baseball (or in our case, hockey) cards! Particularly since... drumroll... we got the one we wanted!!! Squee! Between this and the concert on Saturday, it's like everything is going our way! Wooooo!!!
Don't be fooled by thinking this puke is mates with a duckling. I watched the puke steal this ducking from its mother and then ran like hell! Is this common???
Puke = hill, Rangi = God of the sky in Maori mythology. This notable landmark is visible from throughout the city, but will be ruined if it is host to 40 story turbines. In 20 to 25 years the turbines will need to be completely replaced but it is unclear how this can be done with world wide fossil fuel depletion leading to ruinous increases in the cost of energy

Most likely they will stand rusting and useless, a testament to greed and stupidity. Central govt is willing to sacrifice this city. There are more votes in Auckland than there are in Palmerston North.
