over the weekend, Pug had hummingbird wars with a male bird. It looked like the male bird was going to win. Today, I've only seen Pug.
When I whine and complain about how photos I take aren't good enough, this is why. I know I am capable of taking a shot this good. This is probably the best photo I've ever taken of a bird. I don't even care about the powdery mildew on the half dead bee balm. This is one of Pug's favorite perches.
Now that I think about it, I'll probably never take another photo this good. But, you know, it's ok. I got this one.

Pug is short for pugnacious
Found this one from 2015. Tyler was already a senior in this pic, but you can see he had much less frosting than he has now.
"The Pug dog breed is originally from China, with physically distinctive features of a wrinkly, short-muzzled face and curled tail. It was brought from China to Europe in the sixteenth century and were popularized in Western Europe by the House of Orange of the Netherlands, and the House of Stuart.. In the United Kingdom, in the nineteenth century, Queen Victoria developed a passion for pugs which she passed on to other members of the Royal Family."
Beebs got an acorn stuck up her butt shortly before this photo. She sat on the ground under a tree, when we stood her up there was an acorn stuck right smack on her butthole. Poor pug. So I dislodged it, put her panties back on her and sat her on my lap for this shot. Neither one of us is very outdoorsy. Little incidents like this are why I always have hand sanitizer.
By the way, it was the spouse's idea to sit her under a tree. He thought she might be tired because we went for a little walk. In the back of my mind I'm thinking, "This might have an uncomfortable ending," but I didn't want to argue. So it was with a little surge of I-told-you-so that I said to him, "You're going to have to hold her still. There's an acorn up her butt and I need to get it out." I love shocking him with random shit, especially when it's his fault :) He didn't try to sit her under a tree again.
In case you're wondering how we walk her with her hind legs being weak, we fashioned a sling for her out of a super soft baby blanket. It takes the stress off her back legs and she moves like a pug racer under the momentum of her front legs :) The weather we've had lately is perfect for Beebs. Not too hot, not too cold. She enjoys a little stroll around the neighborhood on days like this.

After a bit of haggling, we agreed to get Pug her own boat. It's a bit short on horsepower, but lady power seem to move it along quite nicely :)
My Penny loves to swim in the river!! Last week when we were here she took a swim in another pool...went all the way across too!!! LOL....she loves to swim sooo much!!
