"The C-123 began in 1949, as a design for an all-metal cargo glider from Chase Aircraft. It was designed from the beginning to be easily converted to a powered cargo aircraft and the first powered prototype flew in October 1949. Chase Aircraft produced five flight testing aircraft before difficulties within the company resulted in the Air Force canceling the contract with them and turning further development and production of the aircraft over to Fairchild in June 1953. A total of 302 C-123Bs were produced for the U.S. Air Force. In 1960, eight Providers were transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard. They were primarily used for logistics support, but also saw service in search and rescue operations. Two aircraft, including this one, were modified to assist in the development of the LORAN-C navigation system."

As part of the #BuildingCommunities campaign being organised by Emaar, Emaar’s management along with community residents organised an Iftar for its community workers and service providers to mark the spirit of service and sharing during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The Iftar was held at Arabian Ranches 2 and was attended by representatives of all service providers that serve Emaar communities in Dubai. They were welcomed by Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director – Emaar Properties.
Residents signed up to donate laban, juices, breads and fruits, while families poured in as volunteers to serve and usher the community staff at the food stations. Homeowners, tenants, school groups, young and old who were part of the initiative, said it was honour for them to volunteer and serve the people working to keep their community beautiful. The event was attended by over 750 staff including security guards, lifeguards, MEP staff and cleaning staff.

Corizon healthcare providers participated in the “Beyond the Walls: Prison Healthcare and Reentry Summit,” held recently at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The event brought together communities of professionals to focus on the crisis of HIV within the criminal justice system and the work being done to “improve conditions inside the prison walls and in the communities to which prisoners are returning.”
Members of Corizon Health staff in Philadelphia presented at the summit, including Regional Vice President Vandelyn Phillips, Regional Infection Control Director Sharon Bunting, Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Debra D’Aquilante and Director of Nursing Monica DeVito. In the presentation, “Planning for Successful Transition in the Community: PREA Implications for the LGBTQ Community,” the “dark side” of the victimization of the LGBTQ population behind bars was brought to light, using Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards of identifying those at greatest risk for victimization and defining measures to protect those people from harm while incarcerated.
The summit was held on June 15. June is nationally recognized as AIDS Education Month (AEM).
