Proverbs 14:6 “A scoffer seeks wisdom, but there is none, but knowledge comes easily to him who understands.”
No, this is Iowa...I also had to miss church in order to get the first revenue run of the Iowa Interstate 516, paired with their other heritage unit, the 513. But I did bring my son with me, and Proverbs 22:6 does say, "TRAIN up a child in the way he should go..." So I should be good. This was out near Walcott, IA.
Some proverbs do contradict themselves and are, therefore, paradoxical. An example of this is:
"Don't judge a book by its cover" and "But clothes maketh the man"

10 July 2020 - setting sun sparkles through tree cover. Rays reflect back from a mirrored building, light falling in unexpected places. Wisdom whispers:

Just took this shot last Wednesday and it was in the high 40"s and very damp and wet and cold on Ft. Desoto Beach. But today we are in the high 70"s and I think this could possibly be a beach weekend! I am speaking at a conference all day Saturday, but there is always Sunday afternoon! I think I may be headed out! Wish you all could go with us ; )

Who knew that this Piping Plover was not only an expert at finding beach worms but also an expert at shaming proverbs. It’s late in the evening and the sun is minutes from setting. The early bird has long since given way to the tired bird, ready to retreat to an evening’s rest. Yet, despite the proverb, it is clear that the “early bird” isn’t the only one who gets the worm! Perhaps it is better to believe that persistence is the best road to success and that being prepared and well informed helps one decide where it’s best to search for the worms! #PipingPlovers

First wall of a new project I'm working on playing with chinese proverbes known as Cheng Yu which are a combination of 4 characters that together form a idiom.
This one is "nine cows one hair" which means small, insignificant, a useless unfightable cause ... I painted this in one of the old historical neighborhoods of shanghai that are getting bulldozed to make way for modern highrises and department stores, displacing the current population and the people that had been living there for years in order to cater to the rich.
