Day 3 - good stubble. low on donations.
Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
The money raised by Movember is donated directly to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada who will use the funds to create awareness and fund research across the country into prevention, detection and treatment, with a goal to ending the threat of prostate cancer.
Did you know:
Every year around 24,700 Canadian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and about 4,300 die of the disease, making it the number one cancer threat to Canadian men.
1 in 7 men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime.
All men over the age of 40 are potentially at risk and should talk to their doctor about the disease and early detection. Prostate cancer is 95% curable if detected and treated early.
For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at:

Some of my coworkers took part in Movember (previously featured in the Flickr blog), and grew moustaches to raise funds for prostate cancer. So I got a photo of them the last day before they run home to shave.
You might recognize Photo of the Day regulars among them: Dan second from the left and Jesse in the middle, Messrob on the end.
Said Jesse, "Wish I'd known I was taking a photo. I would have shaved. But I'm gearing up for Decembeard."

A special THANKS to everyone who came out, volunteered and supported us! Without YOU, we would not have been able to raise over $40,000 to support Prostate Cancer Research and Awareness. Thank you for such a successful event. We appreciate it!
I'm donating my face to charity and comedy! There is a huge stigma against women with facial hair. I will be poking fun at this social disgrace while raising money for Prostate Cancer Canada. Please support my Movember efforts with a donation!

My friend's dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer and died recently.
As a mark of respect a group of us are raising money for mens health charities by growing a moustache. Why a moustache you may ask?
Well, Movember is a moustache growing charity event held during November that raises funds & awareness for men's health.
In 2010, over 100,000 people in the UK got on board, raising over £10 million.
Just £1 will make a difference. Between all of the team and the people we know, we'll raise £1000's. I'd love you to be a part of that.
The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and our men's health partners, The Prostate Cancer Charity and the Institute of Cancer Research. They support a broad range of programs in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.
