My new weekly dose of medication from Roxburghe. In the wee broon bottle lives some Dexamethasone tablets.

I have to say that every single member of staff at Roxburghe from the doctors all the way down to the cleaners were extremely courteous nice people.

Spectrum Health Movember Kick-Off

Grampa's big fat belly, marked up with ink and nine transparent stickers ready for tomorrows session of radiotherapy at ARI.

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. After that process I get introduced to the staff of Maggie's Centre.

Some more of the good stuff that's keeping me here. It's very important that things don't become blocked.

Hey Andy, try Goserelin,

It's done wonders for my skin.

What's that? Looby Loo?

She'll understand, she loves you.

You're right Andy, it is no fun,

but it is something that has to be done.

I know, this cancer -we have to fight it.

You bet Andy, and kill every little bit.

We did it. We all finished!

Mr Blue

As taken two weeks following my first treatment

Little did I know what was coming down the pike.

As each treatment progressed, so had their side effects

Spectrum Health Movember Kick-Off

RollerCon 2015: Chippendales vs Magic Mikes

the promotion of prostate cancer awareness and treatment.

I met Skip on Saturday morning as he was shoving off from the tip of Door County, Wisconsin, and heading into the waters of Lake Michigan. I was busy taking photos of the lake when I noticed his kayak, loaded to the gills with equipment. I went over to see what was going on and he spoke of the "mission" he was on.

A week ago, on Saturday, June 14 Skip Ciccarelli was in Chicago. He pointed his kayak into Lake Michigan and begin a planned 54-day, 1,700-mile trip from the Midwest to the Hudson River in New York City.

Ciccarelli, a 60-year-old high school teacher from Massachusetts, is a prostate cancer survivor. If all goes as as planned he will arrive in NYC on August 9 - exactly 7 years to the day from when he had surgery for prostate cancer. He is using the trip to raise cancer awareness.

"At the time I realized, that like most men, I was clueless about prostate cancer and soon became flummoxed at how little men know about their own bodies," Ciccarelli said. "I realized I needed to help raise awareness. By drawing attention to prostate cancer, I'm hoping more men will get prostate check ups, PSA screenings and that more research will focus on this disease."

More information on Ciccarelli's journey can be found at www.paddle4prostate.org. Any funds raised over and above Ciccarelli's expenses will be split between two prostate cancer organizations: Us TOO International and the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

The second pose ... I was beginning to ham it up by now. He thought I was showing a little bit too much of my feminine side/I'm putting it down to the hormone therapy ... or perhaps it's the real me showing through after all these years.
