My friend's dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer and died recently.

As a mark of respect a group of us are raising money for mens health charities by growing a moustache. Why a moustache you may ask?

Well, Movember is a moustache growing charity event held during November that raises funds & awareness for men's health.

In 2010, over 100,000 people in the UK got on board, raising over £10 million.

Just £1 will make a difference. Between all of the team and the people we know, we'll raise £1000's. I'd love you to be a part of that.

The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and our men's health partners, The Prostate Cancer Charity and the Institute of Cancer Research. They support a broad range of programs in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.

The first runners begin to check in

Bottles of water, cups of tea

Probably too much black coffee,

But it all helps to make me pee

Now I wait for the colour you see.

Sometimes red, sometimes pink,

Doesn't seem to depend on the drink,

So I stand and look down next to the sink,

How much longer is what I think.

Movember: growing a mustach beginning on November 1st (clean shaven) throughout the month, and collect donations. Donations are spread through various organizations for Prostate cancer (some being Live Strong). My goals are to accomplish a handlebar within a month.

This is my first "picture" i'll try and do at least 1 a week. :

I'm standing in front of Calow Royal Hospital ~ the suite I attend is the one just above my left hand ~ after being told I couldn't have my sixth session of chemotherapy. They had to check my blood first. The next time I'm booked in to go is two weeks today ~ provided I can have a heart scan first ...

The first of my medication prescribed to help ease the bone pain that started in my left hip & thigh last Thursday. Me thinks the cancer has come from the left hand side of my pelvis.
