Here I am, in my darkest dreams,
(realised)
waiting for the x-ray beams
(Don't sigh).
I knew this would come some day
(slight exaggeration):
My dad and all his brothers died this way
(Cancer. no abberation).
Now it is my turn, but my luck has changed
(for the better, I hope),
With hormone therapy my masculinity is rearranged
(if temporarily, I can cope)
And radiation from the Linac my prostate zapped
(please keep the beam tight),
Let's hope it gets the cancer capped
(and I'll win this fight).

Christmas Happenings Ashley Style
It is Christmas 2021 and here we are in the midst of Christmas Happenings Ashley Style. Christmas is the time where we celebrate the birth of Jesus. What a beautiful time to stop and reflect on what our Savior has done for us.
My Family
My family is so amazing, so complicated, and so beautiful. Today, we got together, as we do the Saturday before every Christmas. I so enjoy this time because we all come together and my sister was able to travel and be here.
There were several we were missing but the ones that were not there, were not forgotten. They were missed terribly. My parents have created a beautiful legacy that will live far beyond what I can even imagine.
Christmas Miracles
This Christmas was filled with peace, laughter, love, and miracles. First and foremost, my daughter is expecting our first grandson in May. Then, my uncle survived a procedure to put a stent in. It has been a long journey and he has been in the hospital for 100+ days. My brother in law does not have cancer in his bones! The BEST thing is that...
Drum Roll
HUNTER IS IN REMISSION!!!!!!!!!
That is a post to come because my emotions simply too much for me to handle. I am in awe of this journey we have been on and the fact that the Lord heard our prayers and did what He does best. He did so IN HIS TIME not ours.

This is where I had my scan. They'd mentioned something in the hospital about a van ~ I thought they meant the van with my file had been held up, No, it was the van in which they carry out their CT scans. InHealth are a private company working with the NHS ...
This time I'm standing in front of Calow Royal Hospital ~ the suite I attend is the one just above my left hand.
Today I couldn't have my sixth session of chemotherapy as they had to check my blood first. The next time I;m booked in to go is two weeks today.

Welp, as it presently stands my neuropathy may never completely dissipate back to the baseline. Alas, I wasn't expecting this answer. Not the end of the 🌎🌍 but kind of disappointing. As that answer is not yet cut in stone, we're going to counteract it with every possible option.....
Will begin researching physical therapists and continue my daily stretching exercises and will also begin taking short daily walks around my neighborhood
This Friday, December 12th I have a consultation with Access-A-Ride, so that's another option. Typically, I prefer to have several irons in the fire at once.

While I was driving around Toronto during my early July trip there, I passed the office of MP Jack Layton, on Broadview Avenue in the western part of his Toronto–Danforth riding (electoral district). Layton died this morning of cancer, so I'm posting this photo I took as a tribute to him. Since 2003, Layton had been leader of Canada's New Democratic Party, and since June of this year, Leader of the Official Opposition in the Canadian Parliament, as the NDP came within second place in the June federal election for the first time in party history.
