As the whole 2024 had its ups and downs,
my heart so longed for winter, knew it has to come, the nature aligned with the lives and gave us storms every now and then. and then, just as I wanted, it came, Alhamdulillah :)
I'd like to give an account of whatever happened and why I couldn't come here much -
the yr kinda started with row in a family matter
I was depressed a whole January, mostly bedridden and while missing many classes in the toughest year
I wasn't allowed to sit for some of my exams (and attended altogher later which worsened my health at the end)
there was a fire that in my building during vacation when everyone was out but I didn't go, so I caught it first saving from the spread but later got busted instead
I fell in love for the first time
I had been in love with whatever I was doing during free times, attended many surgeries.
the country had issues and we had to fight in the hospital during casualty days. I was homeless for some time and stayed with some friends and in the hospital.
I got my heart broken so many little times.
I've been bullied by toxic people in profile ground too, facing how professional life is for the first time, which worsened my health again.
I made many good friends and well-wishers too.
I learnt many skills while couldn't attend exams, so it wouldn't go to waste.
I think at the same time I was ahead of the curve and got lost.
So many in and around my life judged me and got me wrong too. Lastly I got into fight with many due to my temper and attacks, but also made amends as much as I could.
I read some great books - When breathe becomes air (written by dying neurosurgeon that I'd recommend every doc and patients to read), Man's search for meanings(written by a concentration camp survivor psychiatrist), some stories of Edgar Allan Poe, Metamorphosis, currently The midnight library.
Long story short, I survived :)
Now attending exams but weren't up to my satisfaction, and still in love :)
Winter has warmed my soul
Send my some prayers so I get rid of health issues soon, and get through these exams.

...were just like a prophecy for what was to happen to the passenger connections on this line.
When heading for the second week of our stay in Romania, we knew that the line we were to stay by in Leordina, was up to have some rough times. Due to the bad condition of the tracks, the heavy class 60 diesels from Craiova were to be replaced with lighter and more modern Siemens Desiro trainsets in the fall of 2024.
Even that didn't happen though, as I have learned from the posts of Martin, who we had met in Sighetu Marmației. Appearently, the traffic on the line is to be completely suspended - possibly due to a deal with the local bus operators, who paid the CFR not to appear here anymore.
Anyways, we therefore say goodbye to this very beautiful railway line in northern Transilvania, with this picture, showing 60-0881 with the regio train R4652 from Sighetu Marmației to Vișeu de Jos, which was slowly nearing the passenger stop Petrova.

2023, Miho Shrine(Shimane Pref)
This is a scene from the climax of an annual Shinto Ritual held at Miho Shrine for the past 13 centuries.
A couple of person who had been restricted their life style in the past whole year would walk to the fisherman's boat, without revealing their face during the whole ceremony, to commence a secret ritual on the boat.

The Prophecy

Y como una profecia se va cumpliendo, en este caso los pequeños orcos somos los humanos, y no nos preocupa nada lo que pasa con los bosques, solo nuestra ambicion, poco a poco nos vamos cargando los ents, los arboles que han estado alli toda la vida, y tarde o temprano, se revelaran contra nosotros, el bosque, el planeta, el mundo en el que habitamos, somos una plaga para ellos, y no digo nada, que se hace con las plagas???...
Solo pensarlo.....

This shot come from the summer Workshop with Erin Babinik. I have taken this shot just after a violent thunderstorm. I can feel still now the emotions and breath the atmosphere of light coming upon the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

I set this picture up in March, it was intended as a bit of a joke but now it turns out it was more of a prophecy.

April 7th, 2023, Miho Shrine(Shimane Pref)
A scene from the climax of an annual Shinto Ritual held at Miho Shrine...a small fisherman's village, for the past 13 centuries.
Two of person who had been restricted their life style in the past whole year would walk to the fisherman's boat,, to commence a secret ritual inside.
A 1931 mascot on a superb, very luxurious Minerva Limo. A Belgian made, Rolls quality luxury car (owned by a number of Hollywood stars) survived the depression but not the German invasion. This was a standard mascot of the day.
Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare, and the sponsor of arts, trade, and strategy. Minerva is not a patron of violence such as Mars, but of defensive war only. From the second century BC onward, the Romans equated her with the Greek goddess Athena.
Jupiter forcibly impregnated the titaness Metis, which resulted in her attempting to change shape (or shapeshift) to escape him. Jupiter then recalled the prophecy that his own child would overthrow him. Fearing that their child would be male, and would grow stronger than he was and rule the Heavens in his place, Jupiter swallowed Metis whole after tricking her into turning herself into a fly. The titaness gave birth to Minerva and forged weapons and armor for her child while within Jupiter's body.. The constant pounding and ringing left Jupiter with agonizing pain. To relieve the pain, Vulcan used a hammer to split Jupiter's head and, from the cleft, Minerva emerged, whole, adult, and in full battle armor. It is clear that our currant fantasies and comic book movies are no more creative and strange, than those of our distant ancestors.

The purpose of the Argonaut expedition was to fly to King Pelias of the Golden Fleece from Colchis (AIA), which was in the depths of the Black Sea.
The Golden Fleece was the ram, which went Frixos to escape from his father, the king of Orchomenos Boeotia, and stepmother, who were ready to sacrifice the. Frixos finally arrived at the court of King Aetes, who received him with honors and gave him the daughter of a woman. When Frixos sacrificed the ram to Zeus, gave his skin to Aetes, who hung an oak tree in the grove of Mars and put a dragon to tribes, day and night.
The cause of the Argonaut expedition was as follows: King Pelias of Thessaly in Lokridas had received prophecies that killed by a descendant of Aeolus and stored by a man who will be wearing a sandal. When Pelias saw Jason in front of him, wearing a sandal just in his right leg to him away from him, gave him a mandate to bring back the Golden Fleece.

The ship for the voyage was made by Argos, the son of Phrixus, from which it got its name, Argo. It was made from trees of Mount Pelion, under the guidance of the goddess Athena. Had fifty oars and stern Athena had put a piece of the sacred oak of talking Dodonon.
Pagases sailed from the port of Iolkou. When the ship arrived in Mysia, the Hylas, the companion of Herakles left, and went to bring water and Heracles was left behind to find him, so he took part in another campaign.
The Argonauts, after many adventures reached the mouth of the River Stage in Colchis.
There, the king Aeëtes promised to give the Golden Fleece, if Jason sow first of the remaining teeth of the dragon, which was not used by Cadmus in Thebes and zepsei two steers that were making fire from their nostrils and had steel legs .
Jason with the help of Medea, the daughter of Aetes, which had fallen in love, managed to get the golden skin. Along with Medea, took the way back, but fell into a big storm and found in Italy. Finally after many adventures, arrived back in Iolko.

I was going to wait for the sunset but I think it would have been another half hour if not longer - I was freezing, had both kids in the car and we were exhausted - I still had an hours drive home ahead of me plus we were about to pop in mum and dads.
I'm up again in a couple of weeks for a party - so will pop up before as I wont have the kids and will try and get some sunset photos.

POSEIDON - GOD OF THE SEA
The site of Claros is north of Ephesus in Turkey. It was within the area of ancient Colophon and 2 km from the coastal site of Notion. Claros was famous in Hellenistic and Roman times for its Temple of Apollo.
The oldest piece of information about the function of the Temple of Apollo in Claros dates back to the time of Alexander the Great. According to the Greek historian Pausanias, in his dream Alexander was told that he would set up a large new city at the base of Mt. Pagos (Kadifekale). After this dream the, king consulted the Apollo oracle at Claros and asked him to interpret the dream for him. He set up the new Smyrna ( izmir )after the oracle gave him the go-ahead to proceed.
