A sunny day in an unsunny month. Vancouver, BC

A vast new housing estate brings Didcot closer to Harwell.

I expect future development will close the gap between Didcot and Harwell and Harwell will eventually become part of Greater Didcot.

It grieves me to see the wonderful Oxfordshire countryside disappearing under acres of concrete.

Central Park is a major mixed-use urban renewal project in Sydney, Australia located on Broadway in the suburb of Chippendale. The first stage of the redevelopment is a tower called One Central Park designed by Jean Nouvel featuring vertical gardens by Patrick Blanc and LED art by Yann Kersalé. The design includes a cantilevered section including a heliostat to provide light to the parkland below. It is the tallest building on the site. Construction by Watpac Construction was completed in October 2013. In May 2014, the One Central Park East tower was ranked by Emporis as one of the world's best skyscrapers. In July of the same year, it was chosen as the best tall building in Asia and Australia by Chicago based Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

Another Office block set to become Anti Social Housing. Expect the developer will price this for the Buy to Let sector rather than Home Owner.

A slightly different perspective on London's ever changing skyline.

View looking east from the Hayward Gallery's Waterloo Sunset Pavilion towards Southwark with Tate Modern's brick tower on the left and London Bridge Station's Shard building on the right.

The building under construction in the centre is Blackfriars 240 - a 20 storey office complex on Blackfriar's Road designed by Alford Hall Monaghan Morris for developers Great Portland Estates. Work started on site about 12 months ago and the concrete lift towers are just beginning to make an impact on the skyline. For a view of how it will look when completed see the architect's website here:

... pretty much as we left it. No water, not sure about the electrics. Probably all disconnected.

Strata SE1 (a residential tower) was the first major scheme to be completed within the overall Elephant & Castle regeneration project. In its completion year of 2010 its designers (BFLS Architects) received numerous accolades, including being overall winner of the Concrete Society Awards and of Building Design's Carbuncle Cup for "the ugliest new building in the UK".

This was where the cactus collection was housed.

Most of the cactus collection has been moved to another site within the company, and will eventually be back on show at Manor Nursery in Runcton.

Two ambient exposures hand blended together. The first to get the exposure of the whites, then one for the blacks. Then merged in photoshop to get the best result. I am not totally sure if i like the shot or not, so any feedback would be great.
