This is close to my house. For the last couple of years property developers have been applying to build 54 new houses on this land. I used to walk the dog there, and from the highest part of the land there are delicious views down to Teignmouth beach. It is officially designated an Area of Great Landscape Value, and within a Countryside and Coastal Preservation Area. Despite being unsuccessful in previous applications it now looks as though the development will go ahead, and in the last few months the gate was installed with its irritating notice. Then these odd structures started to appear - presumably to assist surveying of the site. It seems inevitable that we will soon have another 50+ cars, noise, disruption and cheaply-built, uninspired new houses. Call me a nimby but there are many other areas which could be developed without touching these green fields...

A walk around the old plant area outside at Manor Nursery, Angmering ... about four months after it closed down in July. It will eventually go for building land.

This was where the cactus collection was housed.
Most of the cactus collection has been moved to another site within the company, and will eventually be back on show at Manor Nursery in Runcton.
This used to be JV Plants, another small independent nursery along Roundstone Lane ... but not any more ...
... during the week leading up to the Bank Holiday weekend. I guess we can safely say we won't be getting many customers at Manor Nursery ... the Spotted Cow Pub will probably suffer too.

"Stations Bridge" (2004) by artist/desingers Langlands & Bell is one of a series of new pedestrian bridges incorporated into the regeneration of Paddington Basin (masterplan by architect Terry Farrell).
Sheldon Square, designed by Siddell Gibson Partnership was the first part of the Paddington Central development to be completed. It is built on the site of the first Paddington Station and Goods Depot (1838) which was originally 8m below the level of the canal. Hence the new buildings have been constructed on a platform and Sheldon Square, the "public space" in the centre of the development has been designed to make use of the lower ground level.

These were the second type of rods. They had already done the soil samples ... this test was to determine the soil density.
