This is close to my house. For the last couple of years property developers have been applying to build 54 new houses on this land. I used to walk the dog there, and from the highest part of the land there are delicious views down to Teignmouth beach. It is officially designated an Area of Great Landscape Value, and within a Countryside and Coastal Preservation Area. Despite being unsuccessful in previous applications it now looks as though the development will go ahead, and in the last few months the gate was installed with its irritating notice. Then these odd structures started to appear - presumably to assist surveying of the site. It seems inevitable that we will soon have another 50+ cars, noise, disruption and cheaply-built, uninspired new houses. Call me a nimby but there are many other areas which could be developed without touching these green fields...

The remains of the cactus collection at Manor Nursery, Angmering ... about four months after it closed down in July. It will eventually go for building land.

Most of the cactus collection was moved to the other nursery, and it will eventually be back on show at Manor Nursery, Runcton.

Between my trip to Paris and Easter, it has been a couple of weeks since I was able to take photos of Swanbourne Park ... since which time, the show house has opened. So far, viewing is by appointment only so I have not been able to look around it.

The latest batch of photos of Swanbourne Park ... since I last walked along here a week ago, another house has sprung up!

More from Swanbourne Park in Angmering ... people are already moving in to the new houses, and they seem to have named one of the new streets even though it isn't finished yet.

Further development on Swanbourne Park in Angmering ... two more new houses have been half built in the last week.

As for the BT roadworks ... is it coincidence that we have been having trouble with "line errors" on our credit card machines at work, just about the time BT dug a large hole just around the corner ... ??

"Stations Bridge" (2004) by artist/desingers Langlands & Bell is one of a series of new pedestrian bridges incorporated into the regeneration of Paddington Basin (masterplan by architect Terry Farrell).

These were the second type of rods. They had already done the soil samples ... this test was to determine the soil density.

By the end of the 18th century, it is estimated that a third of all leather made in England came from Bermondsey

... into the new Swanbourne Park housing estate ... onto an already heavily trafficked road ...

Angmering village descended into chaos while Roundstone Lane was closed for four days so that they could install sewage pipes to the new Swanbourne Park housing estate. Trade at Manor Nursery was hit very hard, during what would normally be our absolute busiest week of the year ... the week leading up to the second May Bank Holiday.

... is what I call the "sunset tree". From Manor Nursery where I work, you can see the most beautiful sunsets through its branches, particularly in winter. I do so hope they don't decide to chop it down in the name of progress ...
