This is a proper breakfast. A proper breakfast is what the English refer to when they talk about a breakfast with eggs, meat, and all the other things that go with a substantive meal in the morning. How much did a proper breakfast at the restaurant we stopped at in Zimbabwe cost? It cost $10 American. Did I have a proper breakfast? No, I had two bowls of corn flakes and a cup of coffee off of the truck which cost me nothing extra. Most people opted for the restaurant. Note that the largest dimension available for this picture is 1024 X 768 as it was uploaded at a very slow bandwidth from a remote location in Africa.
Finally got around to doing a proper photoshoot with my panther av. I think they turned out really good :3
I started out this beautiful morning with a good, old-fashioned rolled American omelette. That’s right! Rolled, not sloppily folded. Between the four layers of egg, I included pepper jack cheese, honey roasted ham, and Mrs. Renfroe’s jalapeños from Fort Worth, Texas.
I carefully used 1/4 of the beaten eggs and lovingly rolled each layer when the egg was almost cooked. Then I pushed the roll to the far end of the pan and add more egg, ham, cheese, and jalapeños. The final product was delicious! It was light, fluffy, and buttery. There were none of those “burnt” brown marks you see on service station or fast food restaurant omelettes.
After cutting the rolled American omelette into four pieces, I enshrined each piece in nori, topped it with a Mrs. Renfroe jalapeño from Fort Worth, Texas, and served it with some pickled white ginger and soy dipping sauce. Also, a pair of manly, manly he-man “Hello Kitty” chopsticks.
Note: I used a rectangular pan, but should you, decide to make a sophisticated omelette, you can make a rolled omelette in a small, round omelette pan.
Don’t have a good omelette… Have a great omelette!
