The proof that I should donate this book---along with many, many others like it on my shelves---is the thick layer of dust that has formed on top if it. Q.E.D.

Free to a loving home; is house-broken and loves to cuddle.
That same arch from the next photo down, but from a viewpoint directly under, with the sun flaring through.
Archiness proven.

I was thinking of getting one of those wrap around canvas prints. Here is the proof of concept. I am almost happy with it. Man, you can fiddle with this stuff 'til the cows come home, and this is just a 'draft'!

The devil's going to make me a free man
The devil's going to set me free
Oh, the devil's going to make me a free man
The devil's going to set me free
I've been down, deep Texas; Mississippi state
Hoping things might go my way
For every hard earned dollar I make
There stands a white man just to take it away
Some might say I talk loud, see if I care
Unlike them, don't walk away from my fear
I've busted bones, broken stones, looked the devil in the eye
I hope he's going to break these chains, oh yeah
The devil's going to make me a free man
The devil's going to set me free
The devil's going to make me a free man
The devil's going to set me free
(Yeah, set me free)
Another hard day, no water, no rest
I saw my chance, so I got him at last
I took his six shooter, put two in his chest
He'll never say a word no more
Oh, he'll never say a word no more
The devil got him good for sure
Ain't got no place to call a home
Only chains and broken bones
Ain't got no place to call a home
So come on Lord, won't you take me now?
Ain't got no place to call a home
Only chains and broken bones
Ain't got no place to call a home
So come on Lord, what you waiting for?
Oh, the devil's going to make me a free man
The devil's going to set me free
The devil's going to make me a free man
The devil's going to set me free
Ain't got no place to call a home
(The devil's going to make me a free man)
Only chains and broken bones
(The devil's going to set me free)
Ain't got no place to call a home
(The devil's going to make me a free man)
So come on Lord, won't you take me now?
(The devil's going to set me free)
Ain't got no place to call a home
(The devil's going to make me a free man)
Only chains and broken bones
(The devil's going to set me free)
Ain't got no place to call a home
(The devil's going to make me a free man)

There's nothing fantastic about this subject; I've photographed this bridge probably 50 different times. What's different this time is that it marks a somewhat successful test. Maybe it does look like an iPhone Hipstamatic shot, but this photograph was actually made with a $30 Holga 120N medium format film camera, using Kodak Portra 100 film (converted to B/W using Silver Efex). And it's a long exposure (about 60 seconds), using a Lee Big Stopper. I'm pretty impressed at the result of adding the Big Stopper and a cable release, though calculating for reciprocity failure isn't something I miss, shooting with digital most of the time. Anywho, I bought a couple dozen rolls of film, and I think I'm going to hit the streets and see if I can spark up some ideas. It's always fun to experiment...
This is Bubbles, a full grown Eagle Owl sitting on the floor in Southend High Street. She wasn't by herself, her keeper was there along with his other Owl (a Little Owl).
I love the size of her feet....
And this shot is for my lovely contact FINNTASIA, as he didnt seem to believe me :D
Ya, only old guys got one of these.
The We're Here group is sampling Beatle Stuff
... and don't worry you younglings, they were a noisy, mop-headed bunch of reprobates who sang out shrill lyrics and defied the social norm.
How/Where do you even start building your large creations?
Research is essential to get reference pics of the scene and the details that would go into the build. Then a small iconic part/scene is picked to get the base concept going and even though it's already been built in my mind (scary thought!), a proof of concept (prototype) is definitely required to see how the pieces fit.
All necessary parts are gathered from the stock inventory (this is where sorting parts before hand helps tremendously). Start building based from the reference pics for the initial prototype and the primary object is not to have the final version yet. Rather get the main structure/components done and then finish up the details later.

The male Red-Winged Blackbirds arrived at my feeders in Troy, New York, USA on February 27, 2017, but, today (March 8, 2017), I was, finally able to get a picture of one, including some epaulet display. Only the males have the red-orange shoulder patches. Here's a great article, describing them! www.allaboutbirds.org/interpreting-red-winged-blackbird-b...
Found an exhibition print proof from 2012. Decided I liked it with the white border well enough to re-post it. Just about to get her face painted at a funfair, nearly a decade later this young lady is now doing very well at university. Tempus fugit...
After playing around with the Stereo Colorist I had to try stereo pairs made with a single camera. For this kind of subject it should work pretty well. And even if it doesn't, I had a nice time on top of the cathedral. Anyways, here the two shots were made a couple of meters apart, which turns out to be a bit too much, it feels like I'm looking a a little city model.

The famous Akrasand Beach at Karmoy in Norway is long and beautiful. Several thousand meters of white sand and blue ocean. The water is not that warm.

Autumn walks at Ashridge.
All the non-native evergreens have been removed, leaving this plantation of tall and spindly beech. Now it’s been surrounded with deer-proof fencing and the intention is to underplant with the native species that would have been growing here originally. Ultimately restoring this section of the woods as “ancient woodland”.
