Today's story and sketch by me #1495, is about the pedestrian, who just arrived through a dimension portal, he is a licenced professional Pronto Snail Exterminator, from the Planet Pronto in Dimension Fourteen. Seems this exterminator named Nic, Had been watching this snail for days, as it sped along a trail in a Rutabaga field. This variety of snails can eat their own weight in Rutabaga's every day. They eat so much, because they have a very high metabolism, and can travel at a high speed, just under 30 miles per hour. The only way to capture them is with a high speed snail snare. Just how the high speed snail snare works, will surely be an interesting story for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.
With fierce competition on the Pronto service between Stagecoach and Trentbarton, this has led to Stagecoach transferring extra buses in from Lincoln including 22800 FX09 DDL, which is seen leaving Mansfield on 22-09-12.

Pronto is a quarter hourly ‘premium’ service which runs between Nottingham and Mansfield every fifteen minutes, with alternate buses extended to Chesterfield.
I’d not ridden the top part before so put that right today, photographing late running and not required 10981 leaving Chesterfield while I waited for sister 10971, which was on time.
In my experience the route is anything but prompt, and had degenerated into a shambles by the afternoon with buses up to 45 minutes late.

The Ford Pronto was the longtime competitor of the Mitsubishi Minicab/Varica and later Veryca, and to a lesser extent, the Subaru Domingo and Estratto. The Pronto is based on the Suzuki Carry, which was also sold in Taiwan. Like the blue I uploaded a few days ago, this is the first generation Pronto, based on the seventh generation Carry (1979-1985). This is the second generation, I suppose it was launched in the late eighties. In 2007, when the Pronto was in its third generation, Ford discontinued the small van/truck. Currently the CMC Mitsubishi Veryca is the sole model in its class.
