The Ford Pronto was the longtime competitor of the Mitsubishi Minicab/Varica and later Veryca, and to a lesser extent, the Subaru Domingo and Estratto. The Pronto is based on the Suzuki Carry, which was also sold in Taiwan. This is the first generation Pronto, based on the seventh generation Carry (1979-1985). In 2007, when the Pronto was in its third generation, Ford discontinued the small van/truck. Currently the CMC Mitsubishi Veryca is the sole model in its class.
