Guildhalls on the Grand Place.
This box was given to retailers as a promotional item. It would have originally contained two 2x4 bricks: one in red and one on white or one in yellow and one in blue.
These two bricks allowed the retailer to demonstrate the building possibilities that were provided by the new patented LEGO stud-and-tube coupling. It really speaks to the advantage that new the LEGO design provided over the competing brands, that the versatility of the system could be demonstrated with only two bricks.
Because the box has the LEGO System logo with System in yellow script, it can be dated from about the last half of 1959 onward.

Leaving for a week trip today with my best friend from California.
--------------------------------------
Health Update: I find the cancer treatments take a lot out of me, not tired but no energy. My PSA levels are now undetectable which is a great sign that things are working. They say it will be a year after treatments are over that I will have more energy, 9 more months of treatments (3 more hormone shots). Hoping I do well on the trip, more for my friends sake and that I can keep up.

Fort Ives was built between 1865 and 1870, by the British in 1865 on the northwest end of McNab's Island in Halifax Harbour.. The fort was armed six 9" rifled muzzle loaded (RML) guns and three 10" RML guns mounted in deep embrasures with iron shields. Three casemates were used as barracks and a fourth was used to assemble munitions.
Improvements were made between 1888 and 1890. In 1890 a new battery was built with two new 6" breech loaded (BL) quick firing (QF) guns. The 9" RML guns were removed 1899-1902 and replaced with more modern breech loaded (BL) guns.
During World War I the fort was upgraded and there were several search lights placed below the QF battery to illuminate mine fields and the submarine nets anchored at Ives Point. , and went over to Point Pleasant (Halifax)
Fort Ives was operational at the beginning of World War II but it was decommissioned in the early years of the war (1942) as the harbour defence moved further out. The fort's guns were moved to other locations.

I am surprised that more use has not been made of destination displays to promote things other than pointless via points (Scatterburn via Golf Links - are the passengers in Seaton in any doubt that the bus won't turn left at the end of their road?). Service and fare changes, diversions, free wifi bank holiday service, there is so many options).
Stagecoach have now started promoting city fares on the 59 and 727 as seen here on 29006 at the temporary Guild St stop.
