Since I'm on a bit of a roll from this session; I thought I'd add another!!!
Taken last week at South Bar Beach, NSW; Australia during a sunrise session.
The rocks had once again been exposed following big seas; the golden light and color was a bonus!!
Hope you like this one too!!

Another from a sunrise outing with long time friend and fellow flickr photographer Joe Micallef at South bar Beach, NSW; Australia.
This was also my first chance to test out my new Progrey 1.2 Reverse Grad filter - I'm very happy with the results, though there is a bit of a learning curve in relation to placement of the darkest portion of the gradation!
Hope you like the detail, composition, exposure and color here - any comments, views or favorites greatly appreciated - thanks!!!!
Have another awesome day and week!!!
Irresistible light and moss covered rocks - what more could a seascape photographer want!!!
This was the scene a few days ago during a sunrise shoot at South Bar Beach, NSW; Australia with long time friend and fellow flickr photographer Joe Micallef.
The image was only possible thanks to my new Progrey 1.2 Reverse Grad filter and Lee .9 Hard Grads (and a little bit of Photoshop...)
It's great to be able to share these moments through flickr - hope you enjoy it!!!

Londrangar Cliffs and the hill Svalthufa are the remains of a crater, which has been eroded to its present form by the sea.
The higher pillar (75m) was first climbed in 1735 and the lower (61 m) in 1938.
On these cliffs, as you can see, gulls and puffins ( on the summer ) build their nests.
Curiosities about this place:
1) The farmers in the area never made or make hay on the hill, because it is said to belong to the elves living in the area.
2) Below the hill you may find Thufubjarg cliff where according to a folktale the poet Kolbeinn Joklaskald had an encounter with the Devil.

Another image I took yesterday morning at Chalky Beach (near Swansea, NSW; Australia).
A decent swell presented the opportunity to capture some white water, which contrasts nicely with the fabulous rock formations and little pastel tinges from the pre-sunrise light.

Sintra-Cascais Natural Park - Portugal
The Sintra-Cascais Natural Park (PNSC) extends from the northern boundary of the county of Sintra, near the mouth of the river Falcão, south to the Citadel of Cascais.
The Sintra mountain range, with a maximum altitude of 528 m, is its dominant element, which is complemented by an extensive rural area and a beautiful coastline like this one.

Palafitic pier of Carrasqueira - Portugal
Next to the small fishing village of Carrasqueira, the popular ingenuity takes shape and with some creativity unveils a curious solution to solve the problem of access to boats during the low tide - the palafitic pier.
When the water turns into a mirror and silence descends on the river, walking through this place, unique in Europe, can become an unforgettable experience at sunset.

Aldeyjarfoss - Iceland
On my last trip to Iceland, this was one of the places that I most wanted to visit again and for which the moments that precede it are always of great expectations.
Fortunately, shortly after our arrival we had a good weather window with a very colorful dawn which allowed everyone to shoot, fly and make some drone footage over this beauty of nature that for me, is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world !

With 454 meters high and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and part of Stokksnes promontory where the coast with stunning dunes of lava, which are constantly shaped by the natural forces of water and wind.
Although the first signs of settlement of Islândida were found in this area, this place is very popular among photographers.
Here the scenery are constantly changing ... the sun, the fog, the waves and the black dunes represent a truly dramatic sight or the wet sand that mirrors the reflections and mountain range Conferring to this place something of enigmatic.
Undoubtedly one of the must-see places in Iceland.

Finally managed to get out again for a sunrise shoot!
I decided to give my old Tokina 11-16 lens another run (now that I've got a new crop camera - Canon 7D mk ii).
Unfortunately, a lack of cloud and sunrise color didn't welcome me back - but the moss covered rocks and a couple of filters helped extract some life from the moment!!!

Gullfoss Waterfall - HvÃtá River - Iceland
Gullfoss or "Golden Falls" is one of Iceland's most beautiful and without a doubt Iceland's most popular waterfall.
Gullfoss is in the river HvÃtá, which has its origin in the glacier lake HvÃtávatn at Lángjökull glacier about 40km north.
Glacial water is brownish, since it carries lots of sediments that the glacial ice has carved off the earth.
To stand at Gullfoss and wallow in the beauty and the wonder of nature is an uplifting experience and everyone feels more energetic when leaving Gullfoss than when arriving.
That's the impact these unique nature sites have on us.

Adraga Beach - Sintra - Portugal
Initially for other purposes, recently added the Nikkor AF-S 14-24 f / 2.8 G ED to my gear.
Faced with the purpose and need to use it with neutral density filters, I looked for a quality solution that could be versatile, easy handling on the ground and adaptable to the remaining line of lenses that I have. The goal was to prevent the use of two systems filters ( 100mm and another).
After some searching, reading some reviews, view some results, I found PROGREY USA and decided to risk ordering their 150mm system, together with a few ND filters and accessories.
Although the whole process of purchase / delivery took place in a short time, the bureaucracy and the Portuguese Customs retained my order for almost 30 days !
A very special thanks to Progrey USA in the person of Lynn Radeka, always very helpful and cooperative in sending all the statements requested by the Portuguese Customs during clearance process. Very good customer support !
All material is of exceptional quality! Very well packed, finishes and details that reveal care in the design and manufacturing processes and on top of all this, all with individual protective bags.
I will perform some more tests and share some of my conclusions, but the first impression is that the risk paid off !
Stay tuned ;)

... the Light and Color
A masterpiece of popular architecture, the Carrasqueira pier is unique in Europe, built on seemingly fragile irregular wooden stakes of the 1950s and 1960s, which serve as mooring for the fishing boats that lay there, sometimes buried in the mud or in the water, according to the tides.
Despite the degradation, the dock continues to fulfill the mission for which it was built: allow access to boats of fishermen, even during the low seas.
Integrated into the nature reserve of the Sado Estuary, the riverside village preserves an impressive network of staking that stretches hundreds of meters along the muddy estuaries of the river Sado.
A tourist attraction point, it is one of the most visited places in the municipality of Alcácer do Sal and one of the most famous spot for landscape photographers in Portugal.

Ponta da Piedade - Lagos - Algarve - Portugal
The Ponta de Piedade is a natural tourist monument composed by a group of several rock formations along the coastline of the town of Lagos, in the Portuguese region of the Algarve.
Consisting of yellow-golden clifflike rocks up to 20 meters high, they are one of the most famous touristic attractions of Portugal. Several caves in Ponta da Piedade can be visited by boat.

Month of March, officially when spring begins, days getting longer and flowers start to bloom. Ah.. where have you been hiding Mr. Sun?
But who can resist frost in the morning, I just can't sleep with the idea in my head. Feet are dying to go, fingers very eager to press the shutter, just need to wait for the right time and condition.
I normally leave most of my stuff in the boot for when I just want to quickly drive around for some quick shoots, but alas! I did not double check if all my things are there, and I left one of the most important thing especially when going to the coast, my wellies!
My poor walking boots and feet were soaked in the freezing water and made it numb for awhile, wish there's a traveling Oaken nearby or just maybe next time check my things first before going :)

Spring brings bring new growth, weed out the bad and make room for something beautiful.
This leads me to East Winch village in Kings Lynn, Norfolk where vast colorful fields of tulips ablaze the place.
It's an uncharted area for me so gave myself plenty of time to find the location and position myself. What a place!
This lady was also on my list to visit along with a few more. Quite busy too with people and vehicles crossing over.
It was also freezing even the mountains have snow caps.

Rainbow Beach, QLD. On an afternoon walk I came across these rocks with branches embedded in them. One must wonder the time they must have been there to wear away at the rock in such a way. The bleached wood also made an interesting counterpoint to stark black rocks. A touch of evening adds to it all.
