Vierdejaarsstudenten van de opleiding middenkader engineer mechatronica Leeuwarden hebben afgelopen periode een magazijnrobot gebouwd. De opdracht was om op basis van PLC het touchscreen en de servocontroller te programmeren en met elkaar te laten communiceren. Vrijdag 23 januari 2015 was de eindpresentatie voor derdejaarsstudenten en docenten.
Grijparm
‘We moesten zelf alle onderdelen zoeken’, aldus Jorrit Talsma. De machine wordt aangestuurd door middel van een Siemens PLC en Touchscreen. Bij het ontwerpen van de grijparm kwam het idee om deze met de 3d printer te maken. Wat een 3D printer kan was al bekend door een eerder project met het zelf bouwen van een 3D printer. Nog een voordeel om de grijparm met de 3d printer te maken is volgens Jesse Kramer dat het licht van gewicht is en dat het eenvoudig en snel te maken is. Het eindresultaat is een magazijnrobot die met behulp van een grijparm bakjes naar het magazijn kan brengen en op kan halen.
Duurzaam
In de praktijk zijn magazijnrobots in gebruik zodat er niet constant allerlei heftrucks rond hoeven te rijden. Veel distributie centra van b.v. groothandels maken steeds meer gebruik van geautomatiseerde magazijnen. De gemaakte magazijnrobot is een mini opzet van zo’n systeem, aldus Rene Braaksma en Siebrand Dijkstra. Een belangrijke les van de magazijnrobot is dat door automatisering het mogelijk is om elektromotoren veel efficiënter te schakelen waardoor ze steeds minder zinloos draaien.
