A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), or programmable controller is an industrial digital computer which has been ruggedised and adapted for the control of manufacturing processes, such as assembly lines, or robotic devices, or any activity that requires high reliability control and ease of programming and process fault diagnosis.
They were first developed in the automobile industry to provide flexible, ruggedised and easily programmable controllers to replace hard-wired relays and timers. Since then they have been widely adopted as high-reliability automation controllers suitable for harsh environments. A PLC is an example of a "hard" real-time system since output results must be produced in response to input conditions within a limited time, otherwise unintended operation will result.

We use these at work for the Panels we build for our customers. Some pretty cool stuff, I can't program them now, but maybe at some point I will learn, they are super cool with the stuff they can do.
Ralph Langner a German cyber-security researcher has speculated that the Stuxnet computer worm that includes a programmable logic controller targeting industrial equipment with the capability to reprogram and then hide its changes, may have been unwittingly spread to Iranian Nuclear facilities from USB drives belonging to Russian contractors. Iran has confirmed that its nuclear program using Siemens control systems had been damaged by the Stuxnet worm. Israel has been credited with the ability to not only create the Stuxnet worm but also to test it on former Libya’s centrifuges obtained from the USA and installed at its own Dimona nuclear complex in the Negev desert. There appears to be little downside to such an attack from Israel as it is virtually impossible to prove who did it. KR PM 10 Profile Sanding Machine is a new generation full automatic machine which is designed and developed for sanding door cases, trims, baseboards and all types of profiles raw or primed. All units are PLC controlled and movable. This features prevent both edge rounding of the heading & end of the profiles and paint removal.

These motors are PLC controlled and their press forces, start&finish points are adjustable. They just start pressing on time when the product reaches to this station.
* Steady Vibration Sander Motor:
There is 1 vibration motor without oscillation as a standard on KR PM 10 in order to sand door frames profile recesses. Its press force, distance & height are adjustable. This motor is also PLC controlled and they just start pressing on time when the product reaches to this station.
* Oscillatory Cylindrical Brush Sander:
This unit is also PLC controlled and its height, revolution and distance can be adjusted easily.
* Steady Cylindrical Brush Sander:
There are 2 cylindrical brush sander units as a standard on KR PM 10. These sanders are PLC controlled and developed in order to sand both edges of the profiles no matter if the edges are flat or rounded. These units start pressing on time when the product reaches to this station as well and their revolutions, distances and angles can be adjusted easily.
