University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto joined the president of the UK Student Development Council, Jonathon Nunley, Kentucky Historical Society Marker Program Coordinator Becky Riddle and others April 15 in dedicating the latest addition to the Live Blue Legacy historical marker program. The marker is made possible through donations from members of the Class of 2012.
This historical highway marker, the 19th in a series, pays tribute to UK student traditions dating back more than 100 years.
An early rivalry between freshman and sophomore classes on the UK campuses was the annual 'Flag Rush' competition where one class would defend their flag from being captured by a rush of competitors.
Replacing the flag rush in 1913 was the 'Tug of War' across Clifton Pond. Students were granted a half-holiday for the annual drenching, and crowds could reach more than 2,000 for the event.
The dedication ceremony and unveiling of the marker took place at a site located near the William T. Young Library on the UK campus. A reception followed.
Since 1994, the Live Blue Legacy Program has supported the placement of Kentucky Historical Society Highway Markers across the UK campus. The Live Blue Legacy Program is administered by the Student Development Council, whose members solicit gifts from members of the graduating class, in this case the Class of 2012. These funds are used to purchase, install and dedicate a marker in the name of that particular class.
Morro Bay CA Sandspit Coastal Cleanup Day 17Sept2011 - Harbor Patrol Crew provided transportation. .2011-09-17-Coastal-Cleanup-Morro-Bay-Sandspit-NEP.33 Photos documenting this event. Here is the call to volunteer: Coastal Cleanup Day (CCD), Saturday, September 17, 2011. Following are the details for the sandspit crews. Please meet at the north t-pier, by the Harbor Dept..and Coast Guard offices (approximately 1275 Embarcadero) at 8:30. Annie and Anna (from Morro Bay National Estuary Program, NEP), site captains, will go over a few details about the site, handle waivers and everyone will board boats by 9 a.m. .As you hopefully know by now, there are no facilities on the sand spit. We'll be walking a loop of approximately one mile, in soft sand. You'll want to bring water, sunscreen and/or hat, and wear shoes that are comfortable in soft sand (that can get wet - you may get a bit wet getting on and off the boats), as well as gloves if you have them. Please be prepared to carry anything you bring as we will not necessarily be departing from the drop-off location. Additionally, please remember that we do our best to get volunteers back to their vehicles by noon, but we are subject to Harbor Dept. schedule. Should there be an emergency, we could be delayed. .Again, this year CCD is making efforts not to create additional waste while cleaning beaches and creeks. We have some buckets for transporting debris. If you'd wish to bring your own reusable container as well, you are welcome to do so. As I already mentioned, please bring gloves if you have them. We will have disposable gloves if you need them. .Should you find you cannot make it or need to contact someone on Saturday, please call Annie at (805)540-0861. Please be sure to notify Annie if you cannot make it so the crews aren't waiting for you. Thank you all for your participation! Buttons and program designed for a wedding in North Carolina.
The couple requested tattoo designs and silhouettes in their wedding colors – orange, red and hot pink.
The mic button is actually an altered version of a tattoo the bride has on her shoulder. The real life version says "Rockin' since '82"... which is pretty rockin.

For their second day on the program, the ladies visited the Womens Basketball Hall of Fame. At the facility they played some wake up games and then toured the museum. After this, they enjoyed a luncheon and panel where they shared a little about themselves and heard a wonderful message from olympic swimmer Kate Ziegler. After the wonderful meal, the girls gathered for a time of curriculum to begin thinking about the state of women and sports in their communities.

our school has a whole series of concerts they're doing this spring. i've worked up these concepts relatively quickly (a couple of hours, each). but they need more...more something.
the music director is fine with the Parablelooza art as it is, but it still feels like it's missing something.
i'm thinking the Willy Wonka just needs more color (color the letters, add some gobstoppers or something).
I'm at a complete loss for what to add to Spring Concert.
