Se me alegró la cara cuando mis amigas me dijeron que había una exposición de fotografía en Logroño,pero aun se me alegró más cuando me enteré de que dentro había un fotomatón de los chachiguays, de esos que sacan fotos distintas...porque llevaba buscando uno desde hace muuucho tiempo, ya que hasta entonces solo había visto por aquí de los normales para hacerse fotos de carnet, que te sacan todas iguales.
Y tengo miedo,porque no se que será de nosotras a finales de mes cuando lo quiten, no se si sobreviviremos o nos entrará el mono..
Había leído que a Starbucks le estan aplicando una sopa de su propio chocolate y le estaban bajando los clientes... Yque el golpe viene ni mas ni menos que de Mc Donalds. Así que he hecho la prueba en el Mc Café de Palmas y Periférico para ver si es cierto, y déjenme decirles que los de Starbucks tienen razón en preocuparse.
Pa empezar, no satanizan a los fumadores. No he fumado desde junio, pero sé por experiencia que hostigar al fumador no sirve de nada más que para convencerlo de no regresar a tu local. Y si no fumas no hay problema: el Mc café además de zona de no fumar tiene una terraza muy cómoda y bien ventilada donde los fumadores pueden entrarle al cigarrito sin molestar al resto de los comensales.
En segundo lugar, te sirven el café en taza. O sea que si quieres tomarte el cafecito en el lugar no vas a tener que quemarte los dedos con el vaso de papel. Y también te llevan tu orden a la mesa.
Por último, tienen una muy amplia selección de alimentos, más completa que en el Starbucks. Tampoco abusan tanto de los nombres en italiano. Y si de plano tienes mucha hambre, siempre queda la opción de comprarte una quarter pounder antes de pasar por el cafecito.
Ahora bien, de todas maneras prefiero el clásico cafecito familiar y sin sucursales, cerca de tu propia casa, ya que la atención y sobre todo el ambiente es muy diferente.
Lástima que entre Starbucks y Mc Cafés estén acabando con ellos. Lo único rescatable es ver que por fin hay alguien con la capacidad de competirle a Starbucks en su negocio. Una de cal por las que van de arena.

a calle Ejército Libertador es creada por orden del intendente de la época Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna quien decide, en la década de 1870, crear nuevos accesos para llegar al Parque Cousiño a través de las chacras del Callejón de Vergara Y Castro.
Pese a que las expropiaciones tuvieron ciertos problemas, ya que algunos inescrupulosos al saber del proyecto de Vicuña Mackenna decidieron construir pobres edificaciones para así poder cobrar hasta cuatro veces más por los terrenos, en el año 1873 fue abierta la calle Ejército Libertador, siendo una de las calles más amplias y con más adelantos de la época (pavimento de adoquines, alumbrado a gas, tranvía a la puerta,
En 1893 Luis Aldunate Carrera, abogado y destacado político perteneciente al Partido Liberal, casado con Felicitas Echeverría Valdés (con quien tuvo cinco hijos), compra a la sucesión Valledor los sitios uno y dos de la calle Ejército Libertador en $99.600 para la construcción de su residencia familiar (más tres casas de renta).
Carrera fallece de pulmonía el 3 de abril de 1908 en Viña del Mar, por lo que su residencia pasa a manos de su viuda Doña Felicitas hasta su muerte en 1919. Ese año su hijo Luis Aldunate Echeverría adquiere la propiedad (más las tres casas de renta).
El mismo año la residencia es vendida en 550.000 pesos, a Concepción Rojas Vargas, viuda de Joglar (Cr.Bs. Raíces, N.º 2734), que la poseería por varios años (pese a que la inscripción registra traspaso en 1938, en el rol de avalúos de Santiago de 1940 figura aún a su nombre, con un avalúo fiscal de casi 1 millón de pesos; posiblemente pertenecía ya a sus herederos Ossa Joglar, Montt Joglar,
En el terreno donde se emplaza el palacio Aldunate se situaba una vivienda colonial de la sucesión Valledor la que fue demolida para dar vida a una construcción de albañilería de ladrillo de dos pisos más techumbre y cúpula, que en su primer piso tenía tres casas de renta y en el segundo la vivienda de Don Luis y su familia.
La fachada del edificio es de estilo bellas artes, con reminiscencias neoclásicas francesas, destaca en su esquina un remate semicircular que posee una cúpula, las ventanas poseen pilastras corintias coronadas con frontones triangulares, además de balcones abalaustrados con rejas de fierros. Su ingreso se realizaba por la calle Ejército N.º 3.
En la década los años 60 en el primer piso se realizan modificaciones para albergar locales comerciales mientras el segundo piso es ocupado como bodega. El día domingo 10 de noviembre de 2013 a las cuatro de la madrugada se decretó la alarma, cuando las llamas comenzaron a consumir el palacio, a causa de una falla en el sistema eléctrico (según informe oficial). La vieja estructura del palacio que había soportado estoicamente terremotos, el abandono y la destrucción, sucumbió en unas horas, quedando solamente la fachada.
En 2020 se dan los permisos y en 2023 comienzan las obras despejando todo el interior destruido por el incendio, construyendo una estructura metálica que albergará locales comerciales en su primer piso, el segundo piso será un gran salón para eventos sociales. Paralelamente se comienza a reconstruir la fachada que será similar a la deteriorada por el paso del tiempo e incendiada en 2013 pero sin la cúpula de madera. La restauración y reconstrucción de la fachada está a cargo de la Escuela Taller de Artes y Oficios Fermín Vivaceta con Francisco Díaz a la cabeza quien además es maestro del curso Albañilería Patrimonia

On Sunday, November 10, 2013, at four in the morning, the alarm was declared, when the flames began to consume the palace, due to a failure in the electrical system (according to an official report). The old structure of the palace that had stoically endured earthquakes, abandonment and destruction, succumbed in a few hours, leaving only the façade.
In 2020, permits were given and in 2023 work began, clearing the entire interior destroyed by the fire, building a metal structure that will house commercial premises on its first floor, the second floor will be a large room for social events. At the same time, the façade is beginning to be rebuilt, which will be similar to the one that was damaged by the passage of time and burned in 2013, but without the wooden dome. The restoration and reconstruction of the façade is in charge of the Fermín Vivaceta School of Arts and Crafts Workshop with Francisco Díaz at the helm who is also a teacher of the Heritage Masonry course
