The probe is to test the pH in his digestive tract. It's actually a wire with several probes along the length of the business end. They slipped it in while he was fully concious because they needed him to swallow.

He didn't much like it. Funny, though, because these pictures were taken around 15 minutes later and he was obviously already starting to feel better.

We get it taken out tomorrow at 8am.
