Ultrasound probe is also called ultrasonic transducer, which is a kind of acoustic-electric reversible conversion device by which various types of ultrasonic diagnostic instruments convert high-frequency electrical energy into ultrasonic mechanical energy and radiate outwards, and receive ultrasonic echo to convert sound energy into electrical energy.
Ultrasound is a mechanical wave with a vibration frequency higher than 20KHz. It has the characteristics of high frequency, short wavelength, small diffraction phenomenon, especially good directionality that it can become rays to propagate directionally. It has great penetrating power for liquids and solids, especially for a solid that is opaque in the sunlight. When it encounters impurities or interface, it will produce significant reflection and form an echo. When it touches a moving object, it can produce a Doppler effect. The following article introduces the composition and the working principle of the ultrasound probe.
The composition and function of the ultrasound probe:
ï‚·
Acoustic lens, matching layer, array element, backing, protective layer and shell.
Acoustic lens: (Acoustic element that converges or diverges sound waves) (horizontal/vertical axis) axial focus.
Array element: The main function is to convert electrical signals into ultrasonic waves when transmitting, and to convert ultrasonic waves into electrical signals when receiving.
Backing: The function is to absorb the ultrasonic radiation from the back of the crystal, reducing or eliminating the interference caused by the multiple reflections of the ultrasonic between the two ends of the crystal; to increase the crystal damping to narrow the transmitted pulse, thereby improving the resolution.
ï‚·
Protective layer and shell: used to protect the internal structure.
The working principle of the ultrasound probe:
The host applies electrical signals to the array element through the cable to make the array element vibrate and emit ultrasonic waves. The ultrasonic waves are reflected and absorbed by the object and then act on the array element, causing the two ends of the array element to generate electrical signals, which are transmitted to the host through the cable for signal processing and image displaying through the display.

The Norman army's power derived from its cavalry which were reckoned amongst the best in Europe. They were heavily armoured, and usually had a lance and a sword.
Between the weather and other responsibilities, I haven't been getting out for photo walks recently. Well, if you wait long enough, opportunity comes right to you. They're "Building A Better America" (and Strongsville) along Prospect Road at the end of our street. The $3.1 million construction project will replace a section of the storm sewer system that is under-sized and failing causing flooding issues for the homes in the area. It's scheduled to be completed late this year. Until then, I'll have photo ops galore within walking distance. I've always been a sucker for B&W street/occupational shots and this fills the bill just fine!
