Democratic Functioning Of The Two Review Committees On Admission Anomalies and Fulfillment Of Reserved Category Seats: In the wake of the implementation of the OBC Reservation Act, this year's admission process saw massive anomalies and non-fulfillment of the legally mandated quotas in the .
various reserved categories because of the JNU administration 's unilateral and illegal interp~·e~atio~ of the MHRD's directive on OBC reservations. Following a JNUSU-Ied movement, the JNU admm1strat1on had agreed to form two committees: one to look into the entire admission process this year, and another to look into the modalities of ensuring OBC reservations. In total violation of the 25 August agreement which the administration signed with the JNUSU, the JNUSU bas not been given representation in the committee to look into the overall admission anomalies. Subsequently, in spite of JNUSU's repeated interventions, the JNUSU is still being kept in the dark about the status and functioning of these two committees. The JNU administration must tell us what is being done to ensure democratic functioning of these two committees. .
Such major violations in the admissions, as well as in the review process, of such a premier university are unacceptable to JNUSU and the JNU community at large. .
With regard to all these pressing issues, the JNU Administration has been consistently maintaining an attitude of silence and insensitivity. Citing the excuse of the unfortunate stay order of the Supreme Court on the JNUSU Elections, the JNU administration is seeking to deny the representation of JNUSU in the Academic Council Meeting of 24 Nov. '08 and thereby evading responsibility on many of these pending issues which are of such pressing importance to the student community. .

A margine del primo Consiglio Federale, il presidente della Figc conferma il format a 19 squadre. Dopo nove mesi di commissariamento è ripresa l’attività del Consiglio Federale, il primo della nuova era targata Gabriele Gravina. Un Consiglio definito dal neo presidente “intenso e partecipato”, che ha eletto vice presidenti all’unanimità Cosimo Sibilia (vicario) e Gaetano Miccichè, mentre è stato deciso di rinviare ad una successiva riunione l’elezione dei membri del Comitato di Presidenza. Dopo aver ricordato quattro figure di spicco del calcio italiano scomparse negli ultimi mesi, l’allenatore Gustavo Giagnoni e gli arbitri Sergio Gonella, Claudio Pieri e Luigi Agnolin, Gravina ha augurato ai consiglieri “una stagione di lavoro fruttuoso e incisivo, perché le aspettative sono tante e tali da assumerci tutti le responsabilità cui siamo chiamati dall’attuale momento storico”, anticipando la necessità di affrontare in una prossima riunione la modifica degli artt. 49 e 50 delle NOIF. Il neo presidente della FIGC ha poi annunciato di voler portare in discussione e approvazione entro il prossimo 31 dicembre le nuove norme relative alle Licenze Nazionali per l’iscrizione ai campionati professionistici. “Ci ispiriamo ad un percorso di riforma e rilancio del calcio italiano – ha annunciato Gravina nella conferenza stampa che ha fatto seguito al Consiglio – e profonderemo tutto il nostro impegno per raggiungere i primi risultati entro pochissime settimane. Dobbiamo dotarci di norme chiare per evitare zone d’ombra”. Tra gli argomenti all’ordine del giorno il format del Campionato di B. Tenuto conto delle diverse pronunce dei vari gradi della giustizia sportiva e della giustizia amministrativa, in attesa del giudizio di merito del Consiglio di Stato previsto per il prossimo 15 novembre, è stata avviata una riflessione tesa alla tutela del valore della competizione sportiva. “Dobbiamo dare risposte ai milioni di tifosi italiani coinvolti in questa situazione – ha avvertito il presidente federale – e considerare che al 15 novembre saranno già state disputate 13 giornate del campionato di B. Vogliamo rispettare la competizione sportiva: non possiamo essere testardi a prescindere perché saremmo degli irresponsabili, non dobbiamo aggiungere al danno una beffa. Auspico che da domenica giochino tutti e credo che il mio auspicio sarà accolto dai responsabili della Lega Pro. È arrivato il momento di giocare a calcio”. Come contenuto nella piattaforma programmatica che ha accompagnato la sua elezione a presidente, Gravina ha proposto l’istituzione di sei tavoli di lavoro con oggetto i temi di cui la FIGC e tutto il calcio italiano necessitano attraverso una riforma complessiva. I tavoli saranno composti da autorevoli esperti delle materie di riferimento e i singoli coordinatori si confronteranno sotto l’egida del presidente federale in una sorta di comitato di gestione. Questi gli argomenti che poi verranno sottoposti al Consiglio Federale: governance (controlli e statuto), giustizia sportiva, riforma dei campionati, impiantistica, marketing (sviluppo economico e commerciale) e Club Italia. “Ci saranno anche delle professionalità esterne al mondo del calcio – ha sottolineato Gravina – e auspichiamo l’ingresso di figure di livello internazionale”.
