Last thing I remember
I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before

Across the Universe
When I was young, I loved watching the stars
Through a telescope;
People thought I was here,
But often I was up there.
There, is also in each of us,
There are up there unexplored worlds that we ignore,
Consenting prisoners of our daily reality.
Crossing the universe, the one that lives inside me,
I never failed to find the light
To love passionately
The colors of this little world,
The useless things,
The remote roads,
The children that laugh,
The mood of your eyes.
I am still up there, dancing with the stars
More than ever
But, I don't need a telescope anymore
And people are not looking for me anymore.
Crossing the universe, I discovered. . .
The dreamer who was looking through the telescope
Patrice

We're all prisoners in one way or another. Some of us in the most literal sense of the word, and some of us are prisoners and don't even know it. Prisoners to our desires, to our passions, to our relationships, to our habits, to our health, to our families, to our restrictions, to the system we live in. We're all prisoners in one way or another. I see the prisoners as I pass through these hallways of insanity and torture, I just need to find out if my prison is real, or it's in my mind, because I lost my way long ago and no longer have a grip on the way to pull myself back.

Do you see her? The small fairy child held prisoner beneath the monster's giant eyes! We must help the poor child - see how she wipes at her tears with her balled fists - we must help her, free her from captivity....help her I say .......

Barbed wire, also known as barb wire, occasionally corrupted as bobbed wire or bob wire, is a type of steel fencing wire constructed with sharp edges or points arranged at intervals along the strands. It is used to construct inexpensive fences and is used atop walls surrounding secured property. It is also a major feature of the fortifications in trench warfare (as a wire obstacle).
Michael Kelly Invented the First Barbed Wire Fencing
The first wire fences (before the invention of the barb) consisted of only one strand of wire, which was constantly broken by the weight of cattle pressing against it.
Michael Kelly made a significant improvement to wire fencing, he twisted two wires together to form a cable for barbs - the first of its kind. Known as the "thorny fence," Michael Kelly's double-strand design made fences stronger, and the painful barbs made cattle keep their distance.
Joseph Glidden Was Considered the King of the Barb.
Joseph Glidden's design made barbed wire more effective, he invented a method for locking the barbs in place, and invented the machinery to mass-produce the wire.
Living patterns of the nomadic Native Americans were radically altered. Further squeezed from lands they had always used, they began calling barbed wire "the Devil's rope."
After its invention, barbed wire was widely used during wars, to protect people and property from unwanted intrusion. Military usage of barbed wire formally dates to 1888, when British military manuals first encouraged its use.
During the Spanish-American War, Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders chose to defend their camps with the help of barbed fencing. In turn-of-the-century South Africa, five-strand fences were linked to blockhouses sheltering British troops from the encroachment of Boer commandos. During World War I, barbed wire was used as a military weapon.
Even now, barbed wire is widely used to protect and safeguard military installation, to establish territorial boundaries, and for prisoner confinement.
I found this barbed wire along with the male Blue Dasher Dragonfly perched on it, at a Polk County park along Lake Kissimmee. Polk County, Florida.

Tabarca is the only inhabited island in the Region of Valencia and is located opposite the city of Alicante, 11 nautical miles offshore and near the Santa Pola headland. In fact, it’s more than just an island: it’s a small archipelago that comprises the islets of La Cantera, La Galera and La Nao as well as the Isla de Tabarca itself. It is approximately 1,800 metres long and measures some 400 metres across at its widest point.
In the past, its shores were a refuge for Berber pirates and, in the 18th century, King Carlos III ordered the island to be fortified and a town built, in which to house several families of Genoese fishermen who were being held prisoner in the Tunisian city of Tabarka. The walls surrounding the town have been officially declared a Historical and Artistic Site and an Asset of Cultural Interest.

Weaver birds, also known as weaver finches, get their name because of their elaborately woven nests. The female inspects the newly built nest. If she is not happy, the male has to break it down and rebuild it.
Foolish man.. He thought by binding the yokai to his house he would have only good fortune.

Here, I think, is a central Jewish insight, which Christian theology has too often obscured: God asks, God invites, God needs our participation in the indwelling drama of love. We encounter that same flash of incarnate presence in Etty Hillesum. The realization of God’s own hope for the worlds, what Jesus calls the reign of God, hinges on our inner receptiveness, our fiat, our participation…
… She smiles, for though they have bound her, she cannot be a prisoner. Not that she is strong, or clever, but simply that she does not understand imprisonment.
