The round Malefizturm is a 34 m tall former prison tower. The oldest parts of the round tower date to the late 14th century, the upper parts are early 16th century.

At the end of this road is the former police prison of Frankfurt. Nowadays, it is used by the autonomous center "Klapperfeld" which was given the right to use it by the city of Frankfurt in exchange for vacating another building they occupied. It's situated right next to the court of Frankfurt. Strange happenings.

But the most astonishing thing in this image is a biker actually stopping at a red light in Frankfurt! A rare sight.

The San Francisco Bay fog envelops the ruins of Alcatraz Prison.

At the entrance to the chapel inside the Old Joliet Prison are the words "Make Ye a New Heart and a New Spirit". At this time, the chapel, built in the 1960s doesn't seem very inspirational. Shards of blue glass tint the light coming in through the window and insulation has fallen from the ceiling.

The Prison Gate, better known in Vlissingen as the Prison Tower, was built around 1491 as part of the Westpoort (West Gate). From 1606 onwards, the building served as a prison, with the "dark pit" in the cellar being feared by the most serious criminals.

This photo was taken in the prison called "La Model", located in Barcelona and designed for men. It was operational from 1904 to 2017. Most parts of the building will be demolished and turn into cultural facilities.
