this is the old fashioned swing ride in Navy Pier Park which sits next to the 150 foot Navy Pier Ferris Wheel...it's fun to listen to listen to the riders as the ride gets into full swing as you get to hear a variety of shrieks from screams of delight to screams of terror...most of all, it's fun to shoot these rides especially at night with cool long exposures and motion blurs....good night friends...pls. EU troopers watch and wait at the highest floor of the Neptune Geo-Engineering Facility
"As the sun set down, almost at dusk, I could see a sliver of light shimmer on the shattered glass that surrounded me. We made it past the main division guarding that Neptune Geo-Engineering Facility, undetected. But I have a feeling DARKWATER will be coming soon. When the main EU division gave the call, I picked up the sniper, gazed in the scope, glaring at a DARKWATER trooper. Slipped my finger around the trigger and then…"

New Adventure Travel Wright Eclipse Gemini-bodied Volvo B7TL H8 KFJ passes through the bus priority traffic signals on Newport's Queensway in early September 2017.
She was operating Service N3 to Allt-yr-Yn, which, with interworked Service N2 to Brynglas, has recently re-located to Queensway from the Market Square Bus Station.
One of seven Geminis that NAT purchased a couple of years ago predominantly for services in Newport, she was new to Arriva London as LF52 UTG as a dual-door machine.
I took various shots using 2 different lenses and settings. This one was with my 90mm macro lens @ 1/80s, f2.8, ISO 400 with manual turned on and auto-focus turned off. This is the one I liked the best as it was the sharpest and comparable to the one with autofocus and Aperture Priority. I used to shoot in Manual most of the time but switched to Aperture Priority as it's quicker for me.
The interactions among water, energy and food are numerous and substantial. Water is used for extraction, mining, processing, refining, and residue disposal of fossil fuels, as well as for growing feedstock for biofuels and for generating electricity.[4] Water intensity varies in the energy sector, with oil and gas production requiring much less water than oil from tar sands or biofuels. Choosing biofuels for energy production should require a careful balancing of priorities, since water that has been used to grow feedstock for biofuels could also have been used to grow food.
Many forms of energy production through fossil fuels are highly polluting in addition to being water intensive, especially extraction from tar sands and shale and extraction through hydraulic fracturing. Further, return flows from power plants to rivers are warmer than the water that was taken in and/or are highly polluted and can consequently compromise other downstream usage, including ecosystems. Conversely, energy is needed for extracting, transporting, distributing and treating water. Energy intensity for accessing a cubic meter of water varies: logically, accessing local surface water requires far less energy than pumping groundwater, reclaiming wastewater or desalinating seawater. Irrigation is more energy intensive than rain-fed agriculture, and drip irrigation is more intensive yet since the water must be pressurized.
Food production is by far the largest consumer of global fresh water supplies. Globally, agriculture is responsible for an average of 70% of fresh water consumption by humans; in some countries that figure jumps to 80%-90%. Agriculture is therefore also responsible for much of fresh water over-exploitation. Food production further impacts the water sector through land degradation, changes in runoff, disruption of groundwater discharge, water quality and availability of water and land for other purposes such as natural habitat. The increased yields that have resulted from mechanization and other modern measures have come at a high energy price, as the full food and supply chain claims approximately 30% of total global energy demand. Energy fuels land preparation, fertilizer production, irrigation and the sowing, harvesting and transportation of crops. The links between food and energy have become quite apparent in recent years as increases in the price of oil lead very quickly to increases in the price of food. The energy sector can have other negative impacts on the food sector when mining for fossil fuels and deforestation for biofuels reduce land for agriculture, ecosystems and other uses.

Due to the fact that the water diet is going to require you to drink more water than you are usually used to drinking, it is highly recommended that you stay away from water containing chlorine such as that which can be found in tap water unless the tap water in the place you live is so good it would be a waist not to not drink it.For those of us not fortunate enough to have a pure supply of clean tap water, using a distiller is that way to go. As low as you have a way to clean your water, then drinking out of the tap should not be a problem as long as it is distilled. In water, there are the concepts of soft water and hard water. The classification difference is based on the mineral content found in 1000mL of water. Soft water, usually what is left water running tap through a water softener has less mineral content and is considered to be more drinkable. In contrast, hard water has more mineral content. On the water diet plan, it is recommended that you drink mineral-rich hard water as much as possible. Drinking hard water said to have more of a filling effect that soft water. This may help prevent overeating allowing you to control your appetite drinking water.
However, in Japan where drinking hard water is seldom an option, most people drink soft water. Most people think that soft water is easier to drink. This may help you get to the 2 liter mark if you are having trouble drinking so much water.
Most important to the water diet is that the water you use is something you don't mind drinking. Since the amount of water you will be drinking is more than a mere cup, the water you drink should be just right for you.

On a warm summer morning UP 9018 slowly leads a 152 car North Platte, NE to Roseville, CA manifest downgrade into Echo Canyon. A Salt Lake City, UT to Global 1, IL train can be seen traversing the eastbound track with UPS trailers and other high priority freight.
Two trains, one on Norfolk Southern and a northbound CN manifest freight, are waiting in Tolono, Illinois, for this southbound CN stack train to clear up. It is crossing over the NS Lafayette District.

A major rain event has impacted much of southern British Columbia including Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. This began Sunday, November 14.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure have been actively responding, monitoring and assessing the many highway closures and will continue to do so as we work with local and emergency service partners.
Safety is our top priority while we deal with a rapidly changing and difficult situation. Your best source of current and accurate highway information is DriveBC.ca.
Alrite... Its about time I put an end to my long hiatus. Lot of other personal things took priority these days and I couldn't find time for shooting (or) flickring. Hopefully I wont be taking anymore long break from flickr.

This one is from my yosemite trip. This is probably one of the first view of yosemite falls you get when you are entering into the valley. This is a HDR made of three exposures. Sky is touched using layer masking in CS3.

A consist of 7 units pass through Floyd at the head end of BNSF Train H GALKCK1 03A bound for Kansas City on the BNSF Marceline Sub. Main Track 1. The rear unit is an Ex-New Jersey Transit F40PH-2CAT headed for the Grand Canyon Railway. Seeing F40 in NJT paint passing by a Missouri River floodplain corn field isn't exactly an everyday sight.

During the Terrastralian Civil War, there was one group that the People's Army of Terrastralia feared above all others; the Terrastralian Army Special Forces.
(L-R) Lance Corporal Rogers. Although not as big a practical joker as Bung, Rogers - the 2IC (Second-in-Command) of Patrol 2-2 - has established himself as someone who keeps a cool head when the first odd angry shot flies out.
Trooper Bill. Since the death of Trooper Scott, the 21-year-old Bill has been saddled with the reputation of being the youngest in Patrol 2-2. Naive and unfamiliar to combat, operations in the Templeton Forest will test him like never before. Bill's got a girl back home, but the lack of any letters since he shipped out has him suspecting that he's already old news.
Corporal Harry. The old man, the leader of Patrol 2-2, whose leadership has already saved the men from several hairy encounters with the PAT. Before the army, Harry was a painter, with several of his works featured in exhibitions. But that, along with his ex-wife, was in a past life. His priorities now consist of doing what he can to keep his boys alive, and his ongoing feuds with the army cooks. By all accounts, he's quite good at getting a reaction from them.
Lance Corporal Bung. Formerly a native of Patrol 2-4, Bung is easily the biggest...Personality in the Company. A renowned prankster, Bung has recently suffered a painful loss with his girlfriend and mother being killed in a car accident. Although Bung was a few cards short of a full sanity deck before the accident, since then...Well, let's just say some soldiers are wondering when the housewarming party will be held at the madhouse...
Trooper Dawson. Known to his friends at Smoky, Dawson - the Patrol's radioman - is known and respected for his matter-of-fact opinions and input wherever it's needed. Dawson, by far receives the most mail of anyone in the Company, though Harry believes that he writes them to himself. Rumour has it, Dawson is quite popular with women back home, but nobody has yet found definitive proof. Perhaps he doesn't write letters to himself after all...
In a completely unrelated note, it's Anzac Day on the 25th, and I thought I'd do something related in the form of some soldiers inspired by the 1979 Australian film the Odd Angry Shot. Set during the Vietnam War, the film follows a Squadron of the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) during their tour of Vietnam. It can best be summarised as 70% Aussie humour, 15% sadness and 15% combat. If you get the chance, check it out; it's a great watch!

It's funny, my boyfriend asked me this gray Texas morning if I like to go out and shoot in this over cast light? I said an absolute NO! I hate that gray color that seeps into everything. Well lookee me! I found gray over cast light on my tray with an empty glass that I just finished some lemonade in. I kept looking at the light, the glass, the roses, the colors... And then, I started to shoot...
