The customer asked for no name or age to be put on this (birthday) cake, which was a first for me. Was a little worried it would look a bit plain, but I think the trailing ivy says it all - and the top tier is a 4" dummy to make it look more like a castle. In terms of 'prettiness', this may be my favourite yet! xx
I made this for our friend Amelia for her 6th Birthday. The silence from her said it all! A lovely cake to make! The filling is my favourite chocolate cake with chocolate butter icing, yum! Contact p.taylor13@btinternet.com for more info
I worked hard to make this castle with accompanying cupcakes for a special birthday girl! It came out pretty well, I learned a lot too, so hopefully next time will be even better!

Spent a few hours at the Dallas Arboretum, working on shooting manual. It was very hot -- very bright.
This was actually supposed to be Ariel's castle as my daughter decided her princess party was to become an under the sea party instead - so i added fondant fish and demerara sugar for sand.

Funny thing happened...I was carrying two bodies, and my 20D + 70-200 2.8 was hanging from my shoulder. The mode dial must have been bumped from Tv to Av which gave me this at 105mm and 1/50 f/11. Got some motion blur on accident. The sun was so bright at the moment with sunglasses on, I couldn't read the settings in the VF to catch the change.
The static portions of the image remained sharp with no IS, so I was pretty happy to get this, handheld.

My best ever princess castle so far. The bottom tier is made from a vanilla sponge with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream filling. The top Tier is made from a chocolate sponge and chocolate buttercream filling. the whole cake is covered with pink sugar paste with a little strawberry flavouring. The turrets are a mixture of both sponges, with pink strawberry flavered buttercream and milk chocolate buttons

In Castle Thornton the toys await the return of the two Princesses, whilst brave Sir Baloo guards the drawbridge with his trusty elvish sword, named Tigger. #Project365 #Photoaday #PrincessCastle

Yeah. That's me sneering in front of several hundred goths in front of the Princess Castle. It was an incredible sight to see. Really. It should have been featured in National Geographic! Just wait for my panogotharamas!
