"Magic exists. Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live."
~ Nora Roberts
St Albans Cathedral, at the western end of the nave. When entering the seating area here, the middle passage between the pews is flanked by two of these large wrought iron sculptures. There is no functionality to them (they are not candle sticks), they are just "there". But why? My guess is that they are boundary markers separating the inside from the outside. And when you do this, you probably wish to protect what is inside, just like the gargoyles on medieval church roofs are meant to ward off evil. These are resolutely modern and even abstract sculptures (unlike the gargoyles), but their meaning cannot be found in the lofty heights of trinitarian theology. Their raison d'être follows a much deeper and more primal need, namely to be in the presence of signs that signal protection. Fuji X-E3.
The deep waters of Conch Island Festival has something in the waters this year that wasn’t present before. With the power and ancient calls of the long forgotten dinosaurs the waters began to remember just what it was. The Ocean is the primordial mother, life giving but also within her its sink or swim, die or survive, eat or be eaten. As the mother ocean remembered, so too did her children and the remembering began the great Primal Awakening

[Auro: Te Moana] - The Maw
I don’t even know where to begin. This tail applier for the Riptide tail is powerful and demands> attention. I choose to pair the look with Bespoke’s Deep Sea Siren head to add to the monstrous and primal vibes. Make sure to hit up Conch Island’s Shopping area today to get this.
Antaya - Fishnet Veil
When I was looking for things to help me complete the look, Antaya’s Fishnet Veil just was too perfect not too. I think it's one of those pieces that’s a great example of versatility. It is beautiful and delicate, but with the right color choice from its generous hud it can become a piece that is a statement of power.
[Aerth] - Body Scales- Featured in Red
Aerth once again does not disappoint. These scales from the Fire pack played nicely with the tail and the theme of the photo. Bright & hot in the places it needed to be while providing texture and detail in the areas that called out for it. They have a slew of other colors & color packs. (Though for me I can see this Body Scale set working for so many look deff one of those moments to consider the Fatpack option!)

I shot this last year on my very first trip to the Sipsey. It was a wet foggy day, who could ask for better conditions? ;-)
I don’t feel safe in this world no more. I don’t want to die in a nuclear war. I want to sail away to a distant shore. And make like an apeman. Ray Davies

Burghley House Stamford. The sculpture Gardens. I think this is wonderful work and really connect with it.
Being in the woods to me feels like a natural comforting place, the place of our past, when this small island was covered with one great forest.
For clarification, the tree is real, look for the Tree People :-)

An intimate view of a steep slope in Madeira Island where laurels are growing wild since centuries. A misty and mysterious place, hidden behind an almost permanent cloudy curtain.

@ Abnormality: Primordial ~ May 7 - 28
Since the beginning of time humans have adorned their heads with the pretty bits from our prey, and now you can too!
This mossy, feathery headdress is sold in three colors, each coming with a HUD to change the horn (9 variants) and braid (4 variants) colors.
The main headpiece is unrigged so it can be manually moved around fit to your head size, and the leafy sideburns are separate objects so they too can be moved and stretched to help fill any gaps you may encounter. The braids are in parts as well so you can wear the back braids and front braids separately or together. If you're low on item slots, the braids can be linked together manually to save space and still work with the HUD.
The braid fits are general male and female fits, so be sure to try the demo!
