From this former railroad bed, which was converted into the Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail in the sixties, we can access a number of side trails that take us into deeper bush in the Ottawa south area, or between the many cultivated fields for a little open runaround, or connect to other trails on the system, or finally lead us into the Mer Bleue Bog area described in the previous photo.
I like everywhere we go because it's all so different, but here I get to play serious ball with Dad because it's safe to go all out, which is the only way for me to chase my ball!

Prescott, Arizona. Walking around here is like stepping back to the Stone Age. Great for kayaking. RV park here.
The area around Prescott AZ is famous for geological formations known as the granite dells. The most well-known location to see the dells is Lake Watson. We started down this trail that would have taken us there, but quickly realized it was a long, hard walk. So we went back to our car and drove to Prescott, which is a lovely small town. After an excellent lunch we drove to the lake, it did not disappoint.
I processed this image in Photoshop. I used two textures, Lenabem-Anna J’s Texture - Oil paint primer and Flypaper Textures’ Oatmeal.

"Located about four miles from downtown Prescott, Watson Lake offers a variety of outdoor activities for everyone. Boating enthusiasts will find convenience with two boat launches and options for canoe and kayak rentals. Fishing is a delight with carp, catfish, crappie, and largemouth bass swimming in the lake. If bird watching is your passion, head to the nearby Watson Woods Riparian Preserve, endorsed by the Audubon society, boasting hundreds of bird species including eagles and pelicans.
"For hikers, the easily accessible Peavine and Iron King Trails, both close to the lake, provide a pleasant and relatively flat terrain. During the summer months, visitors can set up camp at the available campsites, equipped with restrooms, showers, picnic tables, grills, fish cleaning stations, and a boat ramp. "

The Prescott & Northwestern was a short line in the state of Arkansas. It was chartered in 1890 to access timberlands for the Ozan Lumber Company. The track was gradually extended from Prescott to Arcadia, Blevins, McCaskill, Belton, Tokio, and Highland, a distance of 31 miles.
While the primary traffic was forest products, for a number of years, P&N shipped Elberta peaches from Highland in Pike County.
