This part of the trail was over Swansea-Cerro Gordo road, by the Saline Valley Salt Tram, and off to Bridegport to camp.
The group appears to finally be ready to head out - only 10 minutes past 8 am start time. Not enough pre-run socializing time had been built in to the schedule. This was the Bodie-Aurora-Hawthorne section of our trip. I didn't shoot as many photos since I had previously visited and shot plenty of photos.
So, as planned Daren and I met up with Lori (standing in boat) and her double ski partner John Saturday morning to do a pre-run to Catalina Island and back in Darrell Nottke's 38' Hustler. Darrell and his boat will be pulling Lori and John this weekend and also pulled Lori in this race last year as she finished near the top in her class.
Lori and John did well and should have a great time next weekend.

I learned how difficult it is to shoot from a fast moving boat on the open ocean and was only marginally pleased with the shots I came away with from the run. I love every new opportunity to photograpgh adventures like this and each one is a learning experience form me.
