CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait – Pfc. Adrian Echeverria, indirect fire infantryman, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, prepares to load a 120mm mortar round during gunnery qualification at Udairi range near Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Nov. 12, 2013. “It’s hard to describe the feeling when you hang that round,” said Echeverria. “Your entire body shakes. It stops your brain for a quick second then you get back to the way you were trained and get the mission done.”

Shameless Sarah competes dripping in molasses against her neighbor Garrett, who strategically covered himself in tape and Canadian Maple Syrup, for a prize of a possible $1,000 in Virgin Radio 98.5 (Calgary, Alberta Canada) $50,000 Cash Cube giveaway. Sarah ended up winning, as we all knew she would, taking home a prize of $340! Not bad for 30 seconds work ;) Now to wash off all that molasses...

Made by Carla in Dodge City, Kansas

Size 37"x 51"
Time was not on my side this week and I had to design something I could sew on the go. English Paper Piecing was perfect. The hexagons are scrappy spring fabrics. Applique and machine embroidery were other techniques used. Quilting is a large zig zag both horizontal and vertical.
