Today (Friday 10 November), Operation Vulcan executed warrants at premises on Bury New Road, shutting down and seizing half a million of pounds worth of counterfeit items.
Police warnings seem to have fallen on deaf ears for some counterfeit operations in the area. Attempts to re-open and profit from the Christmas sales however continue to be detected and swiftly shut down.
Thanks to intelligence from the Cheetham Hill Neighbourhood Team (who remain in the area with the Vulcan team and conduct daily patrols in the community), Operation Vulcan were able to execute these warrants just days after witnessing customers walking down Bury New Road with bags of fake goods.
Detective Sergeant Matt Donnelly, one of Operation Vulcan’s specialist officers, said: “These results today demonstrate just how important it is that Operation Vulcan remain in the area. The criminals operating here are so brazen, the minute they think they spot an opening, they’re back up and running as though it’s business as usual. We’re here to show them that this isn’t the case, and we will not stop until these illegitimate shops are eradicated and those responsible are locked up.
“I hope this is a warning that no matter how many times you try to reopen, we will continue to seize your belongings and profits, making sure none of this money can make its way back into the criminal market.
Councillor Luthfur Rahman, Deputy Leader of Manchester City Council said: "Over the past 12 months we have achieved a great deal through Operation Vulcan. Through our partnership with GMP gangs have been run out of Cheetham Hill and people have been allowed to feel safe in their own neighbourhoods.
"But the work will go on. We know these gangs are tenacious and that criminals will always find ways to circumvent the law. The Council's Trading Standards will remain vigilant throughout the Christmas period to make sure that dangerous or harmful goods do not make their way in the hands of the public."

It was the first time for me to take pictures of an old factory. The one in North Duisburg (Ruhr) in Germany is particularly well conserved and became rehabilitated as a leisure spot (park, beer garden, climbing walls etc...)

New Scythia - an experimental archeological project site in South-Western Hungary, near Regöly. In October, 2015, I spent here almost two days with my younger kids and a group of friends. The site features many reconstructed buildings and objects from prehistoric times. It was a fascinating experience in a peaceful environment.

The internationally renowned architects Wilhelm Holzbauer and Georg Lippert in a fascinating way combined the charm of Vienna, modern aesthetics and state-of-the-art technology in the main buildings of the Ring Road Galleries, Palais Corso and Kärntnerringhof (Carinthian Ring Court).

The Kärntnerringhof, with an area of 35,000 square meters, stands proudly on the site of the former Steyr-House. With 16 floors, it offers not only space for the Ring Road Galleries, but also for spacious offices, luxury apartments and the underground car park. The owner of the Kärntnerringhof is the Zurich Insurance Company.
Palais Corso
The monumental facade of the Palais Corso which outwardly reflects the charm of the 19th century impresses with a highly modern interior. In a strikingly harmonious way, modern and traditional architectural features blend. In addition to the business centers of the Ring Road Galleries, the traditional Grandhotel Wien as well as offices, luxury apartments and an underground car park can be found on an area of 70,000 square meters. The Palais Corso is owned by the First Viennese Hotel AG.

The Golden Temple or Darbar Sahib, situated in Amritsar, Punjab, is the most sacred temple for Sikhs. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of the Sikh people all over the world. In the evolution of the Darbar Sahib, is entwined the history and ideology of Sikhism. In its architecture are included, symbols associated with other places of worship. This is an example of the spirit of tolerance and acceptance that the Sikh philosophy propounds.
Inside the premises of the Hindu temple called Mattan (or the place is called Mattan), on the way to the town of Pahalgam from Srinagar. The premises of the temple contains some buildings and with a metal fence and a large tree inside the premises. The temple is for worshipping the sun god and also has a beautiful Shiv Lingam as well, and has a tank inside it with a number of fish, and devotees like to feed these fish. It was an important location for Kashmiri Pundits till the emergence of terrorism in the area caused many disturbances. The temple had to be guarded by a contingent of security forces, and this presence of security forces can be seen by visitors with security posts and a sand-bag position inside the temple compound. The temple was also famous to visitors because the pundits here would claim to know your entire family history based on previous visits.

A study of The Premises Recording Studio, Hackney Road, Cambridge Heath, London, shows that fire doors in good condition, salvaged from existing buildings, may be further fabricated into noise reducing barriers.
It was also noted that the use of glass, which generally vibrates to much to be used extensively in recording studios, is useful so that band members may observe each other from seperate booths. The glass can however be angled then undesirable echo is bounced off to be absorbed into ceiling mounted baffles.
