Nothing seems complicated anymore

sights and sounds of past rapport

heard now in the gentleness of a late February morn

playing upon a throwback reborn

from a seemingly random breeze of necessary purpose

recalling the longing of a connection so ingenious

we are instilled and indisposed, regaled and juxtaposed

charmed by the Sunlight's heavenly senses thus supposed

floating within and beyond any doubt of inspiriting

a loneliness that now gathers this hope it's eliciting

made in a Heaven integrating with each and every footstep

close to touch, shifting focus toward the ultimate prep

given a course in daily enlightenment from sun rise to set

against all darkness cast in a Soul made for no regret

catch the light before it fades into all-swallowing time

consume your fears and exhale belief in it's prime

for the daily climb is a premise of vista's hitherto dreamt of,

the vision is the spark of the fire warming the heart of love

guiding the mind steering the ship of navigable valleys

when acting as one, the whole world answers and rallies

the last goodbye is the very first hello of the new dawn

colouring dreams of old and reinvigorating friends newly drawn

unto the circles of harmony rippling through each and all

our faith begins with the sunrise and the air we each call

this unifying expression of living is the nature of life

nobody can deny, no-one should defy, our bond of this very life.

View of an asbestos textile moneybag, a vintage novelty item by H. Fishlove of Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. - 1967. The coarse cloth contains approx. 75% chrysotile asbestos, but sewn together with cotton thread (hey, it's a gag-gift).

The asbestos textile moneybag shows a screenprinted "guarantee" that one's money is in "FIREPROOF ASBESTOS - TO GO SAFELY THROUGH HELL - FIRE - BRIMSTONE". Although, not certain how one could challenge such a claim, but the silly premise of the novelty is certainly worth a chuckle, right?

Unfortunately, the apparent hilarity of the moment might be "short-lived" realizing the ironic twist that asbestos may bring one's demise a little earlier than expected.

A Do-It-Yourself asbestos sampling kit designed for use by home occupants.

While there are several interesting issues about this test kit, the basic premise of having untrained laypersons disturbing suspect (or moreover, actual) asbestos materials in their own home seems most concerning.

Governmental organizations have conducted thorough research and promulgated detailed laws & regulations with specific requirements for asbestos inspection protocols. Professional asbestos inspectors and surveyors are required to possess a requisite amount of asbestos-related experience, receive specialized training from a properly accredited and licensed training provider, and then also be properly licensed and accredited as asbestos inspectors themselves in their respective districts.

Further, properly trained, licensed and accredited asbestos inspectors are medically monitored for wearing specialized HEPA-filtered respirators and employ detailed sampling techniques that are intended to protect themselves and others in the sampling environment.

Professional asbestos inspectors also possess experience at determining adequate sampling strategies and sample quantities for statistically reliable results. Not to mention, the properly trained asbestos inspector utilizes asbestos-related experience to collect samples representative of the respective materials, comprising all layering and other related subtle material anomalies (e.g.- all layers of multi-layered plaster and surfacing materials, all layers of multi-layer pipe insulations, scooping "bottom" of installed vermiculite attic insulation, including joint-compound with gypsum-drywall, inclusion of mastics and adhesives, and many other material-specific sampling methods).

The idea of the general public haphazardly digging into asbestos materials and likely contaminating themselves and their families in their very own homes seems flawed, at the very least.

Also, is this kit suggesting to homeowners that there is no concern for asbestos in homes built after 1978?

Further, one might think a special health warning, cautionary statement, or conspicuous disclaimer about the danger(s) of asbestos exposure on the package would be essential for the purchaser of the asbestos sampling kit.

Big-Budget Film Stunts Shine as 'Lights, Motors, Action!' Revs Up Its Engines for May 2005 Debut

Stunt Car Show Artist RenderingDisney-MGM Studios Home for Action-Filled Show

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- High-octane energy explodes on one of the largest stages at Walt Disney World Resort beginning in May 2005 as the Disneyland Resort Paris-inspired "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show" blazes into Disney-MGM Studios.

Featuring high-flying, gravity-defying automobile, motorcycle and high-speed watercraft stunts, the turbo-powered stage show will immerse park guests in the thrill-a-minute world of big-budget movie stunts.

When it opens, a cast of more than 50 will thrill audiences with pulse-pounding chases featuring automobiles, motorcycles and watercraft. Customized and modified, these vehicles will be piloted by a group of trained drivers throughout the show.

The arena for "Lights, Motors, Action!" -- a 177,000-square-foot facility featuring a Mediterranean village set -- is one of the Florida Vacation Kingdom's largest "stages," allowing stunt drivers to pack more edge-of-your-seat action into the show including high-speed spins, two-wheeled driving, jumps, pyrotechnic explosions, high falls and plenty of surprises created just as they are performed for the silver screen. The 5,000-seat stadium allows guests to see every inch of the non-stop action.

The premise of "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show" centers around the filming of a spy thriller, with production crew members, stunt managers and a director and assistant director on the "live" set. Using a Tinseltown trick known as shooting "out-of-sequence," the director sets up the different stunts for the audience. After each scene is "filmed," the director then combines the shots to create the completed scene that is played on a giant video wall for the audience.

Other highlights and fast facts of "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show":

* Construction on the stunt arena began in February 2003. It features a Mediterranean village façade, stunt ramps, pyrotechnic equipment and a man-made canal.

* Audiences will enter through the garage -- or atelier -- as mechanics and technicians finely tune the show vehicles. Six giant windows offer guests behind-the-scenes views. The show will feature more than 40 vehicles on stage and inside the garage area.

* Each vehicle is highly modified to perform the many extreme stunts.

* Vehicles featured include high-performance automobiles, motorcycles and stunt watercraft. Also, "surprise vehicles," including one designed to drive backwards and another designed to split in half.

* Vehicles are designated by color so the audience will always know which is the "hero" vehicle and which is the "chase" vehicle.

* Meticulous planning, practice and timing are dedicated to each stunt. Because of the choreography involved, crew members liken it to a "ballet on wheels."

"Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show" is just one part of "The Happiest Celebration on Earth," an 18-month gala that pays tribute to the 1955 opening of Disney's flagship park, Disneyland.

From Wikipedia:

"Captain Marvel is a fictional comic book superhero, originally published by Fawcett Comics and later by DC Comics. Created in 1939 by artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker, the character first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 (February 1940). With a premise that taps adolescent fantasy, Captain Marvel is the alter ego of Billy Batson, a youth who works as a radio news reporter and was chosen to be a champion of good by the wizard Shazam. Whenever Billy speaks the wizard's name, he is instantly struck by a magic lightning bolt that transforms him into an adult superhero empowered with the abilities of six mythical figures. Several friends and family members, most notably Marvel Family cohorts Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel, Jr., can share Billy's power and become "Marvels" themselves.

Hailed as "The World's Mightiest Mortal" in his adventures, Captain Marvel was nicknamed "The Big Red Cheese" by archvillain Doctor Sivana, an epithet later adopted by Captain Marvel's fans. Based on sales, Captain Marvel was the most popular superhero of the 1940s, as his Captain Marvel Adventures comic book series sold more copies than Superman and other competing superhero books during the mid-1940s. Captain Marvel was also the first comic book superhero to be adapted to film, in 1941 (The Adventures of Captain Marvel)."

While there are several concerning issues about this test kit, the basic premise of having untrained laypersons disturbing suspect (or moreover, actual) asbestos materials in their own home seems most troubling.

The idea of the general public unwittingly contaminating themselves and their families by digging into asbestos materials in their own homes seems flawed, at the very least.

Any process with the words "asbestos" and "do-it-yourself" is simply a bad idea.

Basic asbestos information with some questionable details on package's side of a do-it-yourself asbestos sampling kit designed for use by home occupant.

Package states asbestos was "banned" by US-EPA and apparently used in only a handful of product types. Actually, asbestos is still a legal ingredient in many products in the US and was incorporated into several thousand distinct products across a wide range of applications. Asbestos was only "partially" banned by the US-EPA. As of 2009, the US-Congress is still debating over whether to completely ban all asbestos products in the U.S.

The activity itself of collecting asbestos samples, technically "disturbs" materials and consequently may cause exposure risk to the sampler and could contaminate the surrounding surfaces. The services of a properly trained and licensed asbestos professional would be best option before conducting DIY activities.

While there are several troubling concerns about this test kit, the product's premise of having untrained laypersons disturbing asbestos materials in their own home seems flawed, at the very least. The home asbestos sampling kit appears that its intended use would put folks at unnecessary risk to asbestos exposure.

MISSION ETERNITY is an information technology driven cult of the dead.

etoy.CORPORATION digitally sends M∞ PILOTS across the ultimate boundary to explore afterlife, the most virtual of all worlds.

The plan is to install a community of the living and the dead that reconfigures the way information society deals with memory (conservation/loss), time (future/presence/past) and death.

Under the protection of thousands of M∞ ANGELS (the living) M∞ PILOTS (the dead) travel space and time forever.

Independent of religious beliefs and scientific speculations, MISSION ETERNITY starts from the premise that all humans leave behind mortal remains and a massive body of information. We all continue to exist as biomass and traces in the global memory: in governmental data-bases, in family archives, in professional records, and in emotional data stored in the bio-memory of our social network.

At the heart of MISSION ETERNITY stands the creation and ultra-long-term conservation of M∞ ARCANUM CAPSULES, interactive portraits and digital communication systems for human beings facing death (M∞ PILOTS).

The M∞ ARCANUM CAPSULES contain digital fragments of the life, knowledge and soul of the users and enable humans to maintain an active presence post mortem: as infinite data particles they forever circulate the global info sphere – hosted in the shared memory of thousands of networked computers and mobile devices of M∞ ANGELS, people who contribute a part of their digital storage capacity to the mission.Read more...

The global energy transition is starting to pick up steam. Offshore wind farms are being rolled out in shallow seas across the world. Because fishing within wind farms is often restricted or prohibited, these farms have the potential to become true wildlife sanctuaries. How will marine life develop and colonize the new underwater landscape, formed by the windturbines? Only one way to find out: science!

My entry to a Vestas Facebook challenge. The premise was to create a creative windturbine with LEGO or other materials. I had been wanting to step into modern/industrial/futurism creations for a while already, so this was a fun excuse to get my feet wet. ;)

The turbine and crane can turn, the turbine blades spin smoothly and the building has an interior. See my IG post about it: www.instagram.com/p/CZ6-d6ML5tc/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

After two days of unsuccessfully searching the windblown lagoons around Porvenir - shifting through hundreds and hundreds of Baird's Sandpipers, White-rumped Sandpipers, and Two-banded Plovers - it was a great feeling to finally set eyes on the instantly recognizable subject of our quest, the mythical Magellanic Plover.

The persistence having paid off, Julio and I riffed endlessly on a clever comedy routine, the hilarious premise of which was we did not know the meaning of the words "quit" or "give up". Is "quit" a type of salad dressing? Is "give up" some new kind of foreign vegetable you buy in the grocery store but don't know how to cook? We had no idea. Even though this went on and on, Jodie still though it was really funny, evidenced by her eye-rolling and sighing.

"Old story has it, as we go thru life we really don't really change. we just become more of the same. You look around you as the years go by, and it seems a very valid premise. People dont change. As a matter of fact most of us resist change very strongly. Yet change is a sure thing. The only variable is rate. Slow we read as evolution, and fast as revolution." ~ Forget

Today, I think i just lost my best friend.... for reasons I'm not really wanting to go into. For now, perhaps its for the best, but I can't help but be heartbroken about it. It feels so surreal, almost like a deja vu. This exact senario has happened to me more times than I can count.... maybe its just part of the curse of being me. Somehow I gotta figure out how to keep this from happening in the future, cuz it always hurts... but I dont know how to, because its always comes as a complete suprise. maybe I'm just naive. /sigh

Sitting by the projector:

Slide projectors, viewers, carousels … whatever you call them function on a fairly simple premise. When light from the projector is shined through specialised photographs (known as slides), it enlarges the photograph on the slide and displays the image on a screen or wall.

Several mirrors and lenses inside the projector produce parallel rays of light that pass through through the slide. While this is happening, a lens on the other side of the slide spreads the light rays back out, enlarging the image.

People don't realise how easy taking and displaying a photograph is these days.

One of two shots I did with the premise of no minifigures. Suggesting an atmosphere with light, shade and emptiness, a really simple setup. I was going to continue with the black and white theme but I liked the different colours too much.

I couldn't help but think of the old Langoliers tele-movie after working on these.

This might be a good name for a band..."Now, coming at you live...it's LOCAL HONEEEEEEEEEYYY!"...hmmmmm...

This shot is actually of what will hopefully turn out to be an allergy preventative. If you've been following my stream for the past couple of weeks, you've likely picked up that I've been under the weather - sore throat (to the point I thought it was strep), congestion, cough, etc.. This has been going on for two+ weeks! As the congestion seemed to be going deeper into my chest and I was starting to worry about pneumonia, I paid another visit to the doc yesterday.

He ordered an x-ray just to be safe and everything came back clean. And he concluded that I've likely been dealing with an upper respiratory infection brought on by allergies. Enter the local honey.

A friend shared that an allergy-sufferer friend of hers started eating 1 teaspoon of locally produced honey daily and her allergies all but stopped; when she moved to a different state, she did the same thing with the same result. The premise is that ingesting honey produced from local pollens helps the body develop immunity to those same pollens during allergy season. On the surface, this makes sense.

So, old wives tale or truth, I'm game for anything at this point. I've never been an allergy-sufferer, but obviously something changed this spring and I'm ready to meet it and defeat it. Not sure how much honey I'll need to ingest to allow the body to develop a fortress, but going to give it a go with the hope that next spring is less eventful.

When the lights go down wild elephants don’t necessarily ready themselves for rest. Studies on wild elephants found that they sleep, mainly standing, for only about 2 hours a night. They also found that deeper sleep (REM sleep) happens only about every 2 or 3 days and that they do this while lying down. Elephants sleep in short bursts rather than 2 hours collectively and many go for days without any sleep at all. During the waking time they eat and keep moving. They follow the scientific premise that the larger the mammal, the less sleep they need. #Elephants

"Restoring the Normal Life of Man and Taking Him to a Wonderful Destination" Part Two

Introduction

Almighty God says, "Once the work of conquest has been completed, man will be brought into a beautiful world. This life will, of course, still be on earth, but it will be totally unlike man’s life today. It is the life that mankind will have after the whole of mankind has been conquered, it will be a new beginning for man on earth, and for mankind to have such a life will be proof that mankind has entered a new and beautiful realm. It will be the beginning of the life of man and God on earth. The premise of such a beautiful life must be that, after man has been purified and conquered, he submits before the Creator. And so, the work of conquest is the last stage of God’s work before mankind enters the wonderful destination. Such a life is man’s future life on earth, it is the most beautiful life on earth, the kind of life that man longs for, the kind that man has never before achieved in the history of the world. It is the final outcome of the 6,000 years of work of management, it is what mankind yearns for most, and it is also God’s promises to man."

NO AWARDS PLEASE, I am just experimenting with a litte interactive play and the power of graphics. Go ahead, vent your frustrations...the only premise is, it has to be constructive.

*I've wanted to do a shot on this concept, specifically this poem for a long time, finally. It is one of the most influential poems I've ever read.

*For those of you who may not know, mock oranges are also flowers that are often metaphorically associated with deception, false promises.

257 Adelaide Terrace was built as the family residence of successful colonial merchant Ernest Chawner Shenton. It was designed by Melbourne architectural practice, Terry & Oakden, and completed in 1888. Named ‘Sydenham’ the Shentons lived there with their five children. In 1905, it was sold to another well-known Perth family, the Hayes who re-named it ‘Kincora’. The Hayes also lived an opulent and gracious life style at ‘Kincora’ where they raised their four children and housed several servants. Their daughter, Sheila (later Gwynne) would go on to establish an outstanding career as an expert horse breeder, including breeding a Perth Cup winner, and made a significant contribution to the Western Australian horse-racing industry. In the 1930s, the remaining sisters Eileen and Mary converted it into flats the sold it in 1955 when it was converted into commercial premise for the Motor Vehicle Insurance Trust and the Rural & Industries Bank of Western Australia. In September 2003, the place was sold at auction for a major redevelopment but then quickly sold again to a private owner who had planned to live there but it has been vacant ever since.

This picturesque but unused barn is shuddering off the latest big snowfall, persevering until our Minnesota spring starts its annual pilgrimage. My father started farming in the Dust Bowl, endured droughts, hail and poor crop prices through the years before selling his farm in his 70s to finally have two nickles to rub together. His base premise for success in life was to endure the storms, get up early every day and work long and hard.

The Phantom comic strip cont’d

In an interview for Comic Book Marketplace, Falk said the Phantom's skin-tight costume was inspired by Robin Hood, who wore tights in films and onstage.( Another of my personal favorites)

The premise was that the phantoms “mantle “ was passed down from father to son through many generations, giving the allusion the phantom was immortal

Falk was a Shakespeare enthusiast and the comic included several references to Shakespeare. These include the third Phantom playing Juliet in the original premiere of Romeo and Juliet, as well as marrying Shakespeare's niece.

The Skull ring the Phantom wore on his right hand would leave a permanent mark on the villain’s chin he would hit. On his left he wore a ring that left a symbol that the showed the domicile to be under the phantom’s protection.

In the skull cave where the Phantom resides are two treasure rooms.

The minor treasure room golds gold, silver and gems from the wrecked pirates ship which the phantom uses to help out the needy.

The Phantom’s Major Treasure Room, holds unique objects as the Excalibur, King Arthur's sword, the Laurel wreath of Caesar, the cup of Alexander the Great, and the snake that bit Cleopatra, the arms of the Venus DE Milo, King Solomon’s diamond cup etc.

On a recent business trip to Japan I set aside a day and was determined to make my way to Mt Fuji. Of course, I would choose the 1 week of the year when there is no snow on the top of Mt Fuji. I can't complain about luck, as I've had some good spells lately, but it was not with me on this visit. The clouds looked like they might cooperate at sunrise, but ultimately fizzled out.

I took a bus from Shinjuku station in Tokyo out to Lake Yamanaka, the lake I thought might have the best chance of producing decent shots at both sunset and sunrise at that time of year. I think my premise was good, but the sunset was not and sunrise was just hinted at before the clouds closed over. I do love the classic reflection of Fuji-san's profile in the lake, with the pre-dawn alpenglow on its flanks, even without the snowy peak (though it clearly looks better with). I look forward to trying again in a future return visit, now that I have a better idea of where to go and how to get there (approx 2:45 by bus from Shinjuku to Yamanakako if anyone is curious).

Giovanni Segantini (Arco, 15 January 1858 - Schafberg mountain, 28 September 1899) - Savognino in winter (1890) - Oil on canvas 35 x 40 cm. - Exhibition Divisionism The revolution of light - Novara Castle

Divisionism was born in Milan, on the same premise as the French Neo-Impressionnisme, better known as Pointillisme, without however being able to speak of direct influence. It starts from the idea that the study of optical treatises, which have revolutionized the concept of color, should determine the technique of the modern painter. It develops in Northern Italy, thanks above all to the support of Vittore Grubicy de Dragon, art dealer, critic, publicist and in turn painter, who with his brother Alberto has been managing an art gallery in Milan since 1876. Vittore spreads the principle of replacing the chemical mixture of colors traditionally obtained on the palette among the painters in his stable, with a direct approach to the combination of complementary tones on the canvas. From chemical data, the color becomes an optical phenomenon and at the necessary distance the viewer's eye can recompose the detached brush strokes in a tonal synthesis, perceiving a greater brightness in the painting.

Devotees inside Banke Bihari Temple, Vrindavan. Everyday thousands and thousands devotees come to this temple get a glipse of Sri Banke Bihari ( Lord Krishna ).

With a little effort the temple authorities allowed me to shoot inside the temple. This is a top view inside the temple. Only thing that you can not shoot is the "Banke Bihari ji's Statue" ....

The temple was built by Swami Haridas in the year 1864. According to folklore, Swami Haridas discovered Banke Bihari in Nidhivan and it was later moved to the present temple premise. The temple is a special attraction during the month of Sravana when it adorns a special look. The entire premise is covered with flowers and other decorative. Special pooja is performed during Janmashtami, the idol of Shri Krishna is adorned with pitamber(yellow cloth) and jewelery.

In my opinion Steve Sexton produced some of the most amazing pictures of classic cars. Here is just one of many examples of Steve’s fine work. As a tribute to Steve, and I am sure he would not have objected, I took the liberty of downloading this exquisite specimen and simply “cleaned up” a few distracting elements that existed in his original picture - viewed here.

In past communications with Steve, he had graciously offered me to download and use any of his pictures for any project that I had in mind. I had always politely declined, on the premise that I could not see how I would be able to improve on any of the pictures, with the exception of razzing him about not asking some of the owners if they would kindly remove a distracting placard (usually placed in the windshields)…….or in lew of asking, cautiously reaching over and carefully removing a placard while taking a picture - and then, of course, carefully replacing it. Steve agreed but evidently did not feel comfortable about taking what many would consider such a brazen action.

Actually I have found that most owners (exhibitors) are very accommodating in this respect but as to what they might have been thinking or what they might have said about me under their breath after I took the pictures and walked away, might be a another story......... ;)

In this instance, I “brazenly” removed the window placard, digitally. Actually I believe Steve would have applauded this action. Along with removing the placard, you might notice that I also cleaned up a couple of areas (of bright red) which I felt suffered as distracting to this beautiful classic Packard picture. No animals were harrmed or abused in the making of this production………

I got lucky taking this shot with my tripod, because later came a Sheriff deputy asking me to stop taking pictures with the tripod. Tripods are not allowed within this premise, only hand held photography.

Tilted red tower marks entrance to Polish war museum by Kwadrat, Gdansk

An angled tower wrapped in red concrete panels and glazing contains the entrance to this second world war museum, which is mostly housed beneath the surface of a public plaza in the Polish city of Gdansk. A jury headed by Daniel Libeskind awarded Studio Architektoniczne Kwadrat the project for the Museum of the Second World War following an international competition in 2010. The studio, which is based in the nearby town of Gdynia, said it put forward a proposal that was "a bit risky", but also "something unusual, very distinctive and memorable".

A tower rising 40.5 metres above the new public square provides the dominant feature of the building, which is located next to a canal in a district called Wiadrownia that was destroyed during fighting in 1945. "The idea behind the design is simple enough," said the architects, "to position the main part of the museum underground so as not to completely use up the small plot of land intended for investment. We have concealed the other functions in a sculptural form. In this way, it was possible to find space for a vast square, and the whole premise became symbolic."

The project comprises three distinct but connected parts, with the underground spaces dedicated to the past, the plaza representing the present, and the tower symbolising the future. The monolithic tower features surfaces set at angles as much as 45 degrees from the vertical, lending it a dynamic appearance that alters when viewed from different directions. Three of its four trapezoidal facades are clad in terracotta-red panels, while the fourth side and kinked roof are filled in with glazing that allows natural light to flood into the interior.

"This simple sculptural form, devoid of literal meaning, evokes various associations," said the architects. "It has already been likened to a bastion, a barrier, a crumbling house or a bunker, and when illuminated at night, it resembles a burning candle. At the same time, it fits in with the city image and the geometry of shipyard cranes – the symbol of the port of Gdansk."

The glazed facade of the tower incorporates an entrance at its base, which is situated at basement level and is reached by a wide set of steps leading down from the plaza. The tower contains a library, lecture halls and a restaurant with a viewpoint looking out across the city skyline. The majority of the 23,000 m2 building is located beneath the paved public square, which aims to provide people with a place to meet, socialise and relax. Staircases descend from the entrance through a large void to the level of the ticket office, cloakroom and exhibition spaces dedicated to telling the story of the war in Poland. A corridor with a narrow skylight at its apex guides visitors through a series of austere exhibition rooms featuring a palette of concrete, steel and oak details.

In addition to digital displays and physical exhibits, the spaces include several recreations of places such as a pre-war shopping street, ruined buildings surrounding a Soviet tank, and the interior of a Warsaw apartment reflecting different stages of the conflict. At the level of the plaza, a bridge connects the tower with a long, narrow volume containing offices. A walkway that passes beneath the bridge is lined with gabion cages filled with red brick and rubble from Gdansk. A further wedge-shaped structure that emerges from the square contains the entrance to an underground parking garage. Both this volume and the offices are clad in the same red tiles as the tower to create a consistent aesthetic across the museum's different spaces.

A candid capture of a local upmarket coffee shop at closing time as I passed a row of shops outside the Wangsa Walk shopping mall. It was only after I previewed this shot on my laptop did I realize that an employee who was relaxing inside the premise, was watching me. ☺

Barakh-khan Madrasa was built in the 16th century by Suyunidzh-khan, grandson of Ulugbek. It is a known fact that it became the seat of the spiritual administration of Central Asian Muslims. It is also the place where the rich library of oriental manuscripts is located. A special premise of the Madrasah library in Barakh-khan is used to maintain the world-famous Quran of Caliph Osman. It is the main source of the book of holy Islam written in the mid-seventh century. The ancient manuscript of enormous dimensions, containing 353 pages of parchment with the original text of the Koran, has been preserved for centuries in the treasury of the caliphs (consecutively in the cities of Medina, Damascus and Baghdad). From Damascus, during the ministry of Timur, the Koran of Osman (Ottoman) went to Uzbekistan, then (until the ХIХ century) was sent to St. Petersburg where it was preserved before the revolution. Subsequently the Koran was brought to Central Asia

"It's the classic American success story. In 1956 two brothers make the decision to strike out on their own, opening the first Schaller's restaurant on Edgemere Drive near the lake.

Their premise of great food, friendly service and reasonable pricing would be the cornerstone of their success. They were right."

The city of Doha, Qatar, is brimming with modern architectural wonders. The Mangera Yvars designed Faculty of Islamic Studies, in Education City, is a stunning example of the synergy of art, culture and architecture. The premise is the Islamic Kulliyyah (كُلِّيَّة), a beacon of enlightenment where all knowledge is sought. The themes of knowledge and light are visible here in the central courtyard, where huge Qur’anic verse adorns the white walls and the two 90m minarets symbolise these tenets.

This MOC was built for a an event hosted by Empire LUG for its members. The theme was "summer fun" combined with "Star Wars". In the summertime I enjoy swimming and diving in the sea, and I decided to base my build on that premise. I thought of where we see swimming/diving in star wars, and came to think of the underwater world of the gungans.

Jar Jar binks has decided to go for a swim in the warm volcanic waters located near the gungan city. Two guards watch him to make sure he doesn't get himself into trouble, which he undoubtedly will...

Bridgewater Canal, Worsley

I've other pictures of this house in my Worsley album but I've only know it as Sasha House - a business premise (commercial property agents) not really in keeping with the historic past of Worsley but I suppose that's progress for you.

To me it was clearly built with a purpose so a little more research and it turns out to be one of the oldest buildings in Worsley, dating from around 1725. Originally a residential dwelling before being altered to become the Nailmaker's Shop in 1789 when construction of the canal and all the related building work commenced. It has been used as a reading room, a library, a gallery and currently as offices. Disappointed I can't find more than that.

Rushton Triangular Lodge Kettering, Northamptonshire

Tresham’s Triangular Lodge, Listed Grade I

In 1593, the date he later put on the Lodge, Sir Thomas Tresham took the firm intention to build a monument to the Holy Trinity in the grounds of Rushton Hall, northwest of Kettering. Work started on the Triangular Lodge the following year. It was originally known as the Warryners Lodge, presumably because the rabbit keeper lived there. It is thought to be the oddest building of its period in the country as its overriding premise is “three”. It has three sides measuring 33ft - each with three gables; three storeys; three triangular windows; and three times three gargoyles. The exterior is littered with trefoils, the family symbol displayed, of course, in threes. Biblical quotations – three of them - are carried on as a frieze along the outside walls with each text consisting of, wait for it, 33 letters. Sir Thomas had served 15 years in prison for his Catholicism and the building was a public reflection of his faith. Tresham’s son was executed as one of the Gunpowder Plotters and his head put on a stake.
