See Terrace!
This gallery depicts a series of futuristic pictures by the French painter Jean-Marc Côté and other artists issued in 1899, 1900, 1901 and 1910. Originally in the form of paper cards enclosed in cigarette/cigar boxes and, later, as postcards, the images described the world as it was imagined to be like in the then distant year of 2000.
At least 87 were produced, and I have managed to capture 73 of them 😊. While a few were on point (A version of Skype or Facetime), many were wildly off-tangent (underwater croquet, anyone?). And all are definitely worth a look!

, although I had to edit a few to render them in higher resolution.
I won the Superbowl halftime prediction contest. My guess was 7-10, Patriots. The real score was 9-10, Patriots. The prize was that package of Andes mints.
I didn't bring my camera, so this picture was taken with my husband's phone.
While things in your personal life are quite rosy right now, not everything will be as pleasant in your business or professional life. This will definitely not be an easy day in terms of negotiating or making a power play. If possible, reschedule that big meeting.www.astrologygains.com

Mega Jackpot Prediction This Weekend with full report, all you need to just start placing bets and you could be the next winner with lot of earning.
These are oversized plastic test tubes. The teachers in this class encourage the children to predict if the materials will mix together well.
Remember this?
In that post eight months ago, I made some predictions about the Sigma SD1 and the future of the Foveon sensor. In it I mentioned:
"Sigma SD1: if it actually ships soon (doubtful)”
Nine months between official announcement and availability is laughable in this age of twelve-month product cycles, but it's actually sooner than I expected given Sigma/Foveon's poor track record for shipping on time. Assuming it actually ships at the end of June like they say.
But now that the SD1 is (almost) here, let’s have a look.
Background
Sigma is best known as the largest of the third-party SLR lens manufacturers. Less well-known is that Sigma also makes mostly-conventional SLRs with a proprietary Sigma mount. That means they can only be used with Sigma lenses – unlike Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Four Thirds, etc., the Sigma mount has no third-party lens support.
So why would anybody be interested in a Sigma camera? One reason, and one reason only: they are the only mass-produced cameras in the world that use Foveon sensors.
A Foveon sensor is different from those used in the vast majority of cameras (basically, any color camera except Sigma DSLRs) in that it captures all three colors (red, green, and blue) at every pixel location. Conventional sensors employ what is called the Bayer pattern, which only records one color at each pixel location. Every other pixel records green, and the remaining half alternate between red and blue. Three-color information is produced at every pixel by interpolating values between the nearest colors. Interpolation cannot add information that was not recorded in the first place, so, all other things being equal, compared to a Foveon sensor that does not require interpolation, Bayer sensors are at a theoretical 2x to 4x disadvantage in areal resolution depending on the color (if the math on that is not obvious to you, just trust me now and Google it later).
Foveon has another theoretical advantage: increased sensitivity. Bayer sensors record color information by filtering out light not of the desired color – a large part of the light is thrown away in the color filters. In contrast, Foveon sensors don’t use conventional color filters. They rely on the natural wavelength-dependent filtering of silicon to separate colors, theoretically wasting less light. So far this has been purely theoretical, as in practice Sigma cameras to date have significantly inferior high-ISO performance to their Bayer-based competitiors.
Enter SD1
So can the SD1 put Sigma/Foveon in the race? On paper, it’s a big improvement over previous Sigma DSLRs. The headline feature is 46 megapixels. Must be a typo, you say? No, just somewhat deceptive marketing. The images output by the camera are 14.75 megapixels.
Remember the part about Bayer sensors requiring interpolation to create the final image? Foveon sensors have always lagged Bayer sensors in output-image pixel count, so Sigma highlights Foveon's inherent resolution advantage by counting the red, green, and blue sensors of each pixel separately - the same way camera LCD pixels are counted – yielding a 3x larger number. On a simplistic level, this is correct: the new SD1 has 46 million individual color sensors, the same number in a 46-megapixel Bayer sensor.
The problem is, in practice, a Foveon sensor has not had as much resolution as a Bayer sensor with the same number of color sensors. In the best case, where extreme amounts of detail is colored and aligned just right to maximize the Bayer disadvantage, a "Sigma math" 46-megapixel Foveon should be equivalent to a 29.5-megapixel Bayer sensor in the green channel and 59-megapixels in the red/blue channel. In practice, such cases are extremely rare, and even in DPReview’s test chart shots, the Foveon is only good for a 2x advantage in areal resolution. Practically speaking, the SD1 should at best resolve as much as a typical 30-megapixel Bayer sensor.
Still, 30 megapixels is pretty impressive. If Sigma does indeed end up shipping the SD1 next month, it will wear the resolution crown for the first time – at least among full-frame or smaller DSLRs.
And to that point: one major upgrade over previous Sigma DSLRs the SD1 introduces is a larger sensor. Previous Sigma DSLRs used a 1.7x-crop sensor size, but the new camera bumps this up to 1.5x – the same as Nikon, Sony, Pentax, and Samsung, and larger than Canon APS-C or Four-Thirds.
The Bottom Line
So, a 30-megapixel-equivalent 1.5x-crop camera – sign me up, right? Sigma's current 4.7-megapixel (so ~9.4-megapixel-equivalent) SD15 is selling for around $1000. The most expensive APS-C-or-smaller DSLRs are around $1600. Considering the far-higher-resolution sensor of the new camera, I’d expect a premium for the SD1 – up to say $2200. Any more than that and it would approach the price of the Canon 5D Mark II, which - with a far larger sensor and an already more-than-adequate 21-megapixels - will likely be a better choice for 99+% of camera users.
So what price did Sigma actually announce?
$9700
No, that’s not a typo.
By comparison, the Pentax 645D, the cheapest “medium-format” (actually, roughly 0.8x-crop) DSLR, with a Foveon-smashing 40 megapixels, costs $9999. Even boutique manufacturer Leica sells its flagship full-frame M9 for only $6999.
Yeah, they say, but Sigma’s lens selection is much better and cheaper than those available for medium-format cameras. Well, what about the four Canon 5D Mark IIs you could buy for about the same price? Canon alone has a much larger lens selection than Sigma, not to mention the extensive selection of third-party lenses available in the Canon mount - including all Sigma lenses.
And let's not forget that all these cameras have far larger sensors than the SD1’s 1.5x-cropper. In the real world where 18+-megapixel cameras are limited as much by, if not more by, lens resolution as sensor resolution, larger sensor sizes boost the entire spectrum of sharpness from contrast to resolution for a given display size. Sigma cannot make up for this loss in sharpness with better lenses, since every lens they make for their camera they make for all their main competitors’ cameras too – at the same price.
Sigma is explicitly marketing the SD1 to medium-format camera users, apparently for no better reasons than that they claim the camera is 46-megapixels (even though it produces 14.75-megapixel pictures) and that it costs as much as a medium format camera. You gotta feel sorry for the guys: with projected annual worldwide sales of probably less than 20,000 units (Canon sold 4-5 million DSLRs last year), the price is probably based solely on the need to break enough profit to recoup R&D.
Will I be buying one?
It is on my shopping list. Right below a Veyron Super Sport and non-refundable tickets to the Rapture.
