These creatures called humans came to our world.
With their weapons. Their arrogance.
They thought they could subjugate us,
Make us bow to their will.
Foolish, inferior beings.
A few seconds was enough for them to realize the magnitude of our power.
Now they run and hide for their lives, that is all they can do.
I will hunt them down. Each one of them.
I will mount their heads on spikes as a reminder of what happens to anyone who defies us.
For my kind bends the knee to no one.
My people were not born to be slaves.
We were born to be conquerors.

Male Barred Owl. I took this upper body shot as it looked a lot more puffy than the entire bird. Just loved those feathers covering the branch.

Wandering around the rock formations of Joshua Tree National Park one can find the most interesting forms to stimulate one's imagination.
Gulls and terns may be closely related, but it is not uncommon for the larger gull to prey on its smaller relative. Fortunately the tern managed to escape the attack.

This dragonfly perched itself on one of the bamboo supports in the garden, surveying his territory! I am not sure of the identity but I think it is a Brown Hawker.

The flight of a dragonfly showcases incredible agility and precision. Dragonflies are highly effective predators, with success rates between 95% to 99% when hunting. This remarkable hunting efficiency is due to their agile flight, excellent vision, and quick reflexes, allowing them to catch prey like mosquitoes, flies, and other small insects.
