More than 160 junior rifle athletes competed in the Precision Rifle event at the 2020 U.S. Army Junior Rifle National Championship at Fort Benning, Georgia today. The athletes, who came from 24 different states across the Country, competed side by side in the Precision competition, which consists of shooting 60 rounds from the standing position within 75 minutes. The U.S. Army Junior Rifle National Championship is organized and hosted annually by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit and the Civilian Marksmanship Program to promote the development of rifle marksmanship skills among American youth and to recognize those who respond to this challenge. The top 30 Precision and Sporter individuals and the top 30 teams in both disciplines were invited to Fort Benning for this championship event.
So the next step is to cut some PVC supports that will sit in the bottom of the NerdHarvest box. We used 2 inch diameter PVC as that was what we had readily available, larger diameter is fine, but smaller diameters are less stable and should be avoided.
We can't give you your exact length, but here is how to establish that for yourself. The bottom of the lip on the Net Pots will end up being on top of the soil chamber floor. You want the bottom of the Net Pots to comfortably rest on the bottom of the box. So the length of the PVC supports should equal the distance from the bottom of the Net Pots to the bottom edge of the Net Pot Lip minus the thickness of the soil chamber floor. Since we will be creating the soil chamber floor from the lid of the container box, that is the thickness we measured. NOTE: This is not the thickness of the plastic itself. If you look at this picture you will note that there is a checkerboard texture molded into the lid surface. The next effect of this pattern is to increase the evident thickness of the lid - be sure to factor that into your measurements.
