Today was out of our daily routine :) A field trip for the 6th grade to a career exploration seminar. They had such a great time learning about all kinds of different options. I loved opening his mind to all the possibilities out there for him. The world is his. He can do whatever his heart desires.

This reminded me of the old style Oxford scholarship questions, examining the candidates' grasp of estimation and orders of magnitude, which we were made to practise in the lower sixth at school. ''Estimate how many molecules from Socrates' cup of hemlock are present in a pint of beer.'' My favourite was, "Estimate how many molecules of Caesar's last gasp are present in your lungs at the moment." One model answer we saw began, ''Assume that Caesar died at STP ...''.

I was having trouble capturing this shot. I know why I was having trouble- every time the sun is really bright and un-obscured, I never know what to do. In my viewfinder, everything looks great but if it never looks like that when it actually comes out. I'm realizing how precise it all is. If I move a bit, everything changes.
Glad to have gotten this shot. Two girls were walking by just as I captured it. I was worried that would ruin the image but it didn't at al! #Yas
