A man preaching on a London street.
For some more street photography from London in March 2024 - reflections, preachers, protestors, and revisiting a location and photograph from 14 years ago:
Taken a while ago, only just edited and posted.
A candid shot on Buchanan Street by the underground
These two evangelical preachers had just been having a chat with the homeless beggar seen behind them, and given him a religious tract to eat, err I mean read.
The ladder is to stand on to preach the gospel further down the street,
I finally gor round to the Brecon and Mon canal again, my first love. I have been trying to get this bridge in the right light for a long time, i like the wobbly steps rail. I tried from close up but after a while , this was taken from some distance where i managed to capture the whole of the bridge I shot it through a tunnel of darkness with lots of overhanging trees. It is dark but i hope the light on the bridge counteracts it

"No sermon today."
I've recently caught up with Preacher, and I love it. It doesn't take itself seriously and is just a really fun watch. I'd also be fine with amc airing 1 hour of Cassidy talking about Irish stuff.
Here's my Jesse, he's pretty simple but I think he turned out good. I sculpted the collar of his blazer and shirt, and his hair. I used a Bruce Wayne hairpiece as a base and sculpted the rest with ProCreate. The face is sandman, with the beard drybrushed on there. His cigarette is the same one from my Constantine I made a while back.
This man and his wife clearly had faith and absolute conviction.
Most people hurried on by, but I was transfixed by his devotion.
Even if I don't see eye to eye with what he was preaching and the archaic language that he used, I saw that he preached and urged us to repent and follow the Lord with the very same urgency as did the characters from old and I immediately thought of the recent depiction of Jesus and his followers in 'The Chosen'.

“I am not the Christ.”
[Are you Elijah?” He said,] “I am not.”
“Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
“I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”

I found this man on a corner in Carlisle, PA. He was reading aloud from his bible and telling people things perhaps of more interest to him.

This guy was very reserved, unlike the Camden lady. She was giving it laldy while this guy was more or less speaking as if to himself.
Father Fuzzy's homily today is about sharing your nuts with others. And after today's service, the basket will be brought out to collect your nuts. Give generously.

I only took this shot, a while back, as a focussing activity for the admirable qualities of the SX60 at long range. The church is in the next street, visible from my deck. Now that I see the unsuspecting magpie in its clerical black and white, I figure it wouldn't hurt to tart it up! Yay for Luminar 4!
"Go tell that long tongue liar,
Go and tell that midnight rider,
Tell the rambler, the gambler, the back biter,
Tell 'em that God's gonna cut 'em down."
My several rolls of film have finally come back from the lab. One frame I took during the Chinese New Year Parade really stood out and was a bit controversial. I have no idea what religious group that these folks belong to. Whenever there are some cultural or LGBT+ activities in the City, these people would be there holding their signs up while blasting their religious messages with a megaphone. Sometimes they would just show up on Market Street doing their preaching on a regular day.
In any case, it 's one of those interesting scenes in San Francisco. Afterall, these people were fully exercising their free speech while I was exercising my right of street photography in the public.

I asked Preacher about his chaps. Said he got them from a rodeo cowboy and then proceeded to decorate them with the brand of every working ranch in Cochise County Arizona as of 2015.
His technique? Draw the brand on the leather with and ink pen and then burn it in with the sun and a magnifying glass.
Pretty damn impressive up close.
