Having just moved to North Vancouver from Toronto, Shae and her family anxiously awaited the opportunity to work with a maternity photographer to document their new pregnancy in a fun, fresh and modern way. Originally having to reschedule our session due to rainfall, we lucked out when weather on this particular morning was crisp, and the fall colours stunning!
Model : Myself
Camera Holding : My Father
This picture was based on a screenplay I was working on. You can see all the pictures based on it by watching the "MEMORIUM / Movie project" album.
My father held the camera, thoroughly following my orders.
Screenplay has been finished. But I fell into the rabbit hole after writing it. So I didn't do anything with it.
I will someday.
At this time I was a beginner with the art of photography. Had a "bad" camera and lens, and a very low photoshop level.
I will take the same picture any time soon, and work on it with my current skill.

I do not usually use material that's not mine, but in this case as soon as I saw this baby prenatal image I had the idea of using it exactly for this photo collage , hoping not to incur in any copyright problems , but I see that many people on Flickr use somebody else's images very freely , so I dared !
In case of problems I will delete the image immediately , I love water images for this reason , they represent for me the going back to mother's uterus , warm and quiet.

Bautismos prenatales o Bautismos anticipados o Enxembramentos.

'Prenatal Development' is an exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry. 24 real human fetuses range from 28 days to 38 weeks old and capture the stages of growth and development before birth. They were donated to the Museum in the 1930's by Dr. Helen Button who collected them with the help of local hospitals. It is believed that they all failed to survive because of accidents or natural causes.
The gallery itself is dark and set off into a corner of the museum to allow for quiet reflection. Which works. The loud and boisterous jumping and yelling mood of the museum is altered dramatically when this gallery is entered. Everyone finds themselves quiet - physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Just quiet. Each person with their own thoughts and feelings.
