A devastating 7.8 magnitude quake struck Nepal today, the deadliest in more than 80 years. More than 1,500 people have been killed so far and the extent of damage is still unknown. This beautiful image of Kathmandu valley was taken about 6 months ago from the iconic Dharahara tower. Sadly, the tower was destroyed today and the city is in ruins. Please keep Nepal in your thoughts and prayers.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is the plaza in front of the old royal palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom. It was one of three Durbar (royal palace) Squares in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The Durbar Square was surrounded with spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Newar artists and craftsmen over several centuries. Several buildings in the Square collapsed in the 25 April 2015 Nepal earthquake.

Hearts Out to Nepal, Lifeline buried, how bleak the reaping of disaster, “lives forever altered or forever lost” beneath the hollowed Earth. Hush or you’ll be jinx’t. “Gays are the reason”, one politician claims, that disaster will follow to your l a n d s .

Never in sights, that at the hands of greed, the voracious reaping of your lands gifts could be sending ripples from sites far away. The domino effect a mere dream faced with truth, eyes blind, cross eyed, contradictions in plain view.

Hearts out to Nepal, in the aftermath of tragedy, there’s always hope to rebuild, but pain, never to be forgotten.

My thoughts go out for people of Nepal after the worst earthquake in more than 80 years.

It's really heartbreaking for me to know about the earthquake. Hopefully all the people I have been met there will be safe !

I just want to keep good memories about this place and Nepalese people. Love this country from the 1st time of my visit. All the people I have been met there were so nice. I even thought I was at home when I return to Kathmandu for 2nd time after visiting India border. All of them really so nice to me, I remember the girls in the hotel I stayed in Kathmandu always chat with me about fashion everytime they met me ( I'm not sure whether I look very stylish in their eyes ), about the guy at the hotel who asking my help to chat with his Indonesian friends online and with the driver who drive around Kathmandu for hunting local restaurants ( yes, I'm foodie ), and all the drivers who pay me a cup of hot coffee, a traditional snack they loved...I couldn't mentioned everything I have experienced...but you can see my Nepal album about the story.

I really wish can go back there in the future ! Stay Strong Nepal !
