Prayer is more than meditation. In meditation, the source of strength is one's self. When one prays, he goes to a source of strength greater than his own.~Madame de Stael
These flags are spreading love and wisdom.

Prayer flags fluttering over the chortens at Kunzum La @ 15K feet. The wind here could sweep away a person.
A revised version, reposted in support of the comments for people to view. I think both have their own appeal, but the original is my favourite over this one, but I guess I must be a little quirky or just a rule breaker :)
Woodland Cemetery in Hamilton, Ontario. I find cemeteries to be very peaceful, and all of the monuments, and statues are so beautiful. All of these photos were taken with respect, and memory.

A prayer for the New Year. Happy New Year everyone! Hoping 2021 is a better one, especially for all of us who work in the NHS.
Tibetan prayer flags strung on a community garden fence. Faded and fraying, they seem weary, as if they've been working hard this past year. Happy Fence Friday, my friends, let us keep praying for compassion and sanity. 💛

I found this group of white chairs at an open air restaurant before opening. To me, they appear to bow their heads as if in prayer.

Shanti Prayer Flags
~~~~~
Night photo in the mighty Himalayas, with Tibetan prayer flags whipping in the wind, sending prayers to the heavens on the way up to Shanti Stupa in Leh, Ladakh. Leh is about 3524 meters (11,562 ft) in elevation. Shanti Stupa is a steep 555 steps above that, and was built by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura in 1991. The stupa holds relics of the Buddha at its base, and was enshrined by the Dalai Lama. I light painted the cliff and prayer flags with a handheld Streamlight LED flashlight during the exposure. This is one of my early night photos, back when I was still figuring it out.
An early morning walk at Phnom Penh Cambodia revealed a local saying his morning prayer looking at the rising sun.
Lascia che sia fiorito
Signore, il suo sentiero
quando a te la sua anima
e al mondo la sua pelle
dovrà riconsegnare
quando verrà al tuo cielo
là dove in pieno giorno
risplendono le stelle....
Fate che giunga a Voi
con le sue ossa stanche
seguito da migliaia
di quelle facce bianche
fate che a voi ritorni
fra i morti per oltraggio
che al cielo ed alla terra
mostrarono il coraggio...
In light of the horrific fires raging in Australia, I am posting this picture as a reminder, of the devastation such events leave scarred upon the earth. My prayers go out to all those who have lost their lives, lost loved ones, and lost homes.
God Bless Australia. May He bring relief and hope to all who are suffering.
I love the way the candle light reflects on her hand. This was the main reason I framed this photo as it is. I think it works well. What do you think?
While the world sleeps, Varanasi wakes up way before sunrise to the chants of Ganga Aarti, like it has for thousands of years.
Devotees storm the ghats to witness the Aarti which is followed by prayers performed on the banks of Ganga.
It's crowded yet so isolate, it's noisy yet so peaceful - simply put, If its life, it's 'Varanasi'
