Recently I was on a photowalk with Prashanth (www.flickr.com/photos/49817259@N03/) and I am grateful to him for suggesting this wonderful shot.

After clicking this one in raw I made some basic modifications on the actual shot by changing the white balance and vibrance to enhance the blue color. Personally, I think could have been much better in post processing but this is what I could have done with my limited skills in post processing while learning a little more :-).

Back after a long long time and hopefully and here to stay n not run away again :))

This is from one of the most breathtaking places I was fortunate to visit.. Montenegro was heavenly with its absolute still waters and beautiful blue skies..a photographers delight!!

Across the world, the Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is renowned for its beauty and grandeur.

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is one of the 108 sacred Vishnu temples or 'Divya Deshams' in India.

The great King of Travancore,

A beautiful composition of Nature.

Also known as the Hamadryad.

Toxicity: Highly venomous (fatal if left untreated)

Length: About 2.5 meter (8.2 ft.), maximum length for this species is about 5.85 meter (19.2 ft.).

Location: Malay Peninsula.

Previously O.hannah, now O.bungarus.

In 2024, a new paper by Das., Shankar., Swamy., Williams., Lalremsanga., Prashanth., Sahoo., Vijayakumar, Höglund., Shanker., Dutta., Ganesh, & Wüster (2024) suggested that King Cobra consists of 4 species.

(1) Northern King Cobra (O. hannah),

eastern Pakistan, northern and eastern India, the Andaman Islands, Indo-Burma and Indo-China, south to central Thailand.

(2) Sunda king cobra (O. bungarus);

Malay Peninsular, Greater Sunda Islands and parts of the southern Philippines.

(3) Western Ghats king cobra (O. kaalinga)- Western Ghats of south-western India and

(4) Luzon king cobra (O. salvatana).

island of Luzon in northern Philippines.

These distinct genetic lineages are geographically isolated and adapted to specific ecological regions

The team was called to captured /rescued this king cobra (KC) from someone's plantation estate and had been hand over to my associate for release right after my photo session.

Fun facts:

-KC built nest to regulate the temperature @ incubate their eggs (the only snake in world that does that).

-KC guard their eggs (about 100 days)

-KC can control the amount of venom it inject into its prey. India has on average 45,000-50,000 death cases per year (by the Big Four Venomous Snakes i.e., Spectacled Cobra, Russell's Viper, Saw-Scaled Viper and & Common Krait) but only 5 death cases are accounted for by King Cobra (Source: Nat Geo Wild).

Behavior: King cobras are able to hunt throughout the day, but are rarely seen at night, leading most herpetologists to classify them as a diurnal species.

I have seen and got inspired by many Rodeo Beach photos here by great photographers. I decided to get one of my own. I had a hard time in cleaning my filters because of waves and wind which led to some moistures, I could see that water drops and dust in my photos .. please suggest how to get rid of moisture?

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.

I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.

Nothing much to say but all I say is,yet more uploads on the way.

Happy sharing..

The moon was out early that day. It was around 7 in the evening and the Sun had just set, making to Sky go all blue. We went the top of a hill which had a Buddhist temple and there were prayer flags fluttering everywhere. The colorful prayer flags made for an interesting foreground with the moon above.

A street scene from rural India..

Here is a very common scene from rural India. You see a schoolboy with his big/heavy bag full of books walking to the school. I was both happy and sad to see hundreds of kids doing this, during our recent road trip.

On one hand it was heartening to see the enthusiasm among these kids and even though they have to walk several miles everyday to reach their schools, they still make it a point to go everyday because education is of utmost importance to achieve progress. On the other hand, its painful to see that they have to undergo so many hardships for even the most basic needs.

We gave a ride to couple of kids on our way and they were quite happy with their school education, even though they had to walk 5miles everyday to reach their schools. Looking at scenes like this reminds me of how fortunate I was to have all facilities at relative comfort.

Have a good day, my dear friends!

You go to new places and it opens your eyes to different things you haven't seen before. Everything from colours, to silhouettes, to patterns - it just comes from everywhere.

The point is that when I see a sunset or a waterfall or something, for a split second it's so great, because for a little bit I'm out of my brain, and it's got nothing to do with me. I'm not trying to figure it out, you know what I mean..? And I wonder if I can somehow find a way to maintain that mind stillness.-Chris Evans

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.

A beautiful evening and the best of Nature..little confused on titling this picture..please do comment to name this....

The white-throated kingfisher also known as the white-breasted kingfisher is a tree kingfisher, widely distributed in Asia from Turkey east through the Indian subcontinent to the Philippines. This kingfisher is a resident over much of its range, although some populations may make short distance movements. It can often be found well away from water where it feeds on a wide range of prey that includes small reptiles, amphibians, crabs, small rodents and even birds. During the breeding season they call loudly in the mornings from prominent perches including the tops of buildings in urban areas or on wires.

The Historical 1213 AD. Temple.

The centuries-old history and culture of India, majestic architectural monuments and museums of Hyderabad,Delhi, Agra and Mumbai have a unique attractive force.

Ramalingeswara temple which is popularly known as Ramappa Temple dates back to 1213 AD. It was built during the reign of Kakatiya kingdom. Dedicated to Lord Ramalingeswara, it is the said to be the only temple in the country which is known by the name of its sculptor, whose name was Ramappa.
