Blue Angels tearing up the sky around the Abbotsford International Airshow. Image taken on a practice day before the airshow. Note one with no smoke and #5 on the #3 aircraft.
One of my favourite people shots of the day - that reflection in the pilot's sun glasses is great. These were a marshall team going out along the Solent for teams practicing on the Saturday 26th August 2017 ready for the race on the Sunday from Cowes to Torquay to Cowes. Mercury powered rib.
Their nice hair was somewhat different on their return with all the salt spray from going full pelt across the water, you will see another shot later of their return, with just the outboard engine propeller in the water - hair swept back hanging onto the the hand hold rails but looked great fun.

Taken at Silverstone, at the UK MotoGP practice session on Friday 24/8. The actual GP didn't happen on the Sunday because the race surface couldn't cope with the heavy rain we'd had and it was deemed to be a danger to the riders.
The Southern Irish team - All Black Racing - competitor C4.
Crew: John Ryan, Philip Fitzgibbon, Denis Dillon and Glenn Chidzoy.

Going at speed here on a practice run in the Solent back from the Needles.
The sponsor "If you've got balls" is a men's underwear company apparently.......!!
Impressive looking powerboat with huge engines - these boats are all highly tuned, trimmed and designed for high speeds up to around 130mph.
Close up of C4 powerboat on their way out for practice. The team are from Ireland. Driver is John Ryan on the far side, co-driver and navigator Philip Fitzgibbon pressing the buttons this side.
They finished the race in 3rd with an average speed of 75.09 mph.
In and around Cowes photo day of the Cowes - Torquay - Cowes Offshore Powerboat Racing - the practice day 26th August 2017. Lots of folks out on the water enjoying the amazing weather as well the impressive off shore powerboats.
You know you are out gunned in a smaller boat when this is the view of the Red-Jet powering towards you on it's approach to Cowes West harbour. Our boat had twin 285BHP engines giving it a top speed of 30 knots - this passenger ferry does over 40 knots I believe.
Reflections in the water of sponsors decals of powerboat C4. North basin pontoon's were for pit and scrutineering of the powerboats at Cowes. Preparation for Cowes to Torquay to Cowes race on the Sunday 27th August 2017.

Cleared for take-off !!
Here is the marshall crew returning to Cowes looking super cool with their reflective sunglasses, hair swept back by the wind, going at some speed - clear out of the water just the propeller under the Solent water. Think that Mercury outboard is a powerful unit matching a super boat. The driver has removed his baseball cap or it has blown off in the wind.

The team finished 5th overall so great result.
