- The hazard switch broke off and I bought a replacement but never put it in. You can still engage the hazards lights but depressing what's left of the broken switch.
- The AC does not work but I never used it anyway. I preferred to drop the windows or remove the T-Tops. I think one wire just needs to be connected for it to work again.

- The toggle switches on the right side were added by the previous owner. They are not hooked up to anything though. For some reason, the prior owner also had 2 red LEDs for the alarm system, which I took out a couple years ago.

How often does one see a Volga GAZ-24 running around town? Here in Los Angeles, there is always something interesting to see but... even here a Soviet-made GAZ-24 isn't a common sight.
When introduced in 1970, the GAZ-24 was a big step into similarity with western cars by borrowing some styling cues from the early 1960s Chevy II and Opel Rekord with improved cabin size and glass area over its predecessor, the GAZ-21.
Mechanically the GAZ-24 was also a big step forward with improved, power-assisted drum brakes using a license-built Girling PowerStop remote servo (similar to a Bendix Hydrovac), an improved, higher horsepower 2.4L ZMZ-24D overhead-valve inline four-cylinder engine (70 kW / 95 PS / 94 hp; fuel consumption 10.5L/100 km, 22 mpg) and, for the first time, a fully synchronized, four-speed manual transmission with a floor-mounted shifter. and hydraulic clutch. The front suspension is independent kingpin-type unequal A-arm with tubular hydraulic shock absorbers. The rear suspension is longitudinal semi-elliptic leaf springs with tubular hydraulic shock absorbers with a Timkin-style live rear axle.
In the Soviet market, this car was considered a luxury vehicle with standard equipment including a Murom Radio Works AT-66 three-band (AM, FM, and Shortwave) radio with power antenna, front and rear central armrests, three-speed windshield wipers, foot-operated windshield washer, heater with defroster, rear window defogger, electric clock, and trunk and engine compartment lights.
